I went to the GP for an emergency appointment, but the doctor was dismissive, unhelpful, and lacked empathy. They didn't even try to make a plan to figure out and address the issue. Instead, they just handed me a business card for self-referral to a physiotherapist. Their lack of people skills left me feeling empty, alone, and crying despite being a strong-minded woman. I can't imagine the impact this could have on a fragile person.

Always really appreciate the response from this Practice. From initial contact at reception, through to appointment with doctor and resulting treatment, the service provided is always positive, timely and reassuring. Many thanks!

The reception and admin team make this surgery what it is! I have never experienced a more willing, friendly, and helpful team of doctor's surgery receptionists! I have been a patient at this surgery for around 2 years, and I have to call on behalf of myself and my two children (my partner calls himself but agrees), and I've never had a negative encounter with them yet.
I'm not 100% convinced with all of the doctors at the surgery, but ultimately they have made the relevant referrals I required, once 'convinced'.

To be fair all staff have their strengths and not so strong points as at the end of the day no one is perfect. I have had my fair share of disappointments the entire time I have been a patient at the practice. One thing l can pinpoint for certain is that none of the GPs are particularly keen on doing referrals for a second opinion to a secondary care provider (a specialist). What l do not understand about this is why the hesitance? Patients, after all, should be free to exercise their autonomy to see a specialist if they so wish especially if there is a very strong reason to do so and in my case, l believe that there definitely is. I am however happy with the patient access portal because l am able to fully access my medical records and am also able to view my blood test results as soon as they become available, in most cases, just 48 hours after they were taken, l recommend that everyone sign up for this service as its gives you control over your health, you can even book and cancel appointments without having to wait in the phone queue. GPs could do with listening more to patients concerns, complaints and worries as communication is key here. Listening attentively to patients will resolve a lot of issues. I must however commend every reception staff member because you ladies do a great job under stressful circumstances. I have done work experience at a medical practice (not this one) and this gave me a better insight into how stressful their role really is.

Incompetent reception. Insistent that they don’t do free vaccinations for basic travel, where it clearly says on NHS website that they do. Had to go in to prove they do. Didn’t apologise after making me wait. On another occasion, they didn’t call about results. Unsurprising given that they didn’t label the sample. Generally, they don’t give you appointments easily and all round, just really substandard.

Google knows better than Dr. Holdsworth.
Booked an appointment after I started having strange symptoms and a delayed period as a result of taking prenatal vitamins. I was worried about the symptoms, which included severe stomach ache, and obviously worried about when and if my period would get back to normal as a pregnancy test came back negative. When I mentioned to the doctor my husband and I were trying for a baby she gave me a look that said “there, another immigrant that wants to have a child in this country”. Little does she know I pay my taxes like any other citizen. Throughout the entire consultation she didn’t say one thing that google hadn’t already said and she also referred me to the NHS website, which I had already checked and it was based on the information on there that I decided to buy the vitamins that messed up my body.
She also sounded like the symptoms I was experiencing and my delayed period were due to expectations and anxiety! Just absurd!
Must be easy becoming a GP and just sit there and refer people to the NHS website.
I also mentioned several things to her that were completely ignored. Showed her the log I have with regular past periods, again ignored, she didn’t even look at it.
Instead of wasting time booking an appointment just google it. Google knows better than someone who supposedly “studied to be there”.
Complete waste of time and public money!!
The one star is for the reception staff that were very polite.

Amazing reception staff by all means!

Doctors are the most disgusting doctors I have ever come across in the uk. If you suffer from mental health, be prepared for deliberate bullying tactics from all doctors! Especially if you’re a person of colour!!!!!
