This system where they provide a phone number for you to wait in a call queue only to be told “you can’t book an appointment on the phone, you need to use the online portal” is ridiculous. And the phone attendant I spoke with was rude, difficult to talk to and argumentative. Awful system for dealing with people who are calling a centre for care. Pathetic.

I moved to the village a year ago! I really rated this surgery, until the new online booking system. It seems that no one wants to deal with you, even if you're in front of them. I was told so many different things when applying for a private letter & a name change for my disabled son. I had the name change document with me at the surgery yet was told to submit it online via an attachment. An attachment didn't exist. If you're going to go online fully then it's important to go give the staff the right information. I ended up having to 2 additional trips to the doctor's. Sometimes my requests were also ignored & no time frame is given for certain things so you're sat around all day wondering.
Also today the online system is " offline", not cool at all!!!

I used the new online total triage system this evening, very straightforward!
After submitting my request for a GP, I was contacted 5 minutes later by a lovely receptionist and offered an appointment to go down to the practice. Dr Poir was on time, polite and professional. A prescription request was sent through to the chemist for me to collect. All very prompt indeed. Fantastic service from our GP Practice!

On Monday I visited the practice with my partner who has MS. She needed a blood test as requested by her MS Team. As she has been treated at Hospitals in Leicester she was told after waiting 1/2 an hour that the surgery were not allowed to do the blood test. Part of her symptoms are difficulty travelling, difficulty taking on board information. If the nurse had read her notes she’d of seen this and at worst written down exactly what she needed to do and at best done the test. Is it true that you are not allowed to do the test or is it rather that you’ve made a decision not to. Bearing in mind we live in East Leake, Leicestershire and the Hospital is in Leicestershire this appears to be a real lack of simple communication between teams. No explanation given, no assistance, disgusting service.

Impeccable Service.
My wife had booked an appointment a few weeks over the phone for 10:30am this morning.
A few days ago she had a text reminder sent to her to say her appointment was now @ 11:25am.
This morning @ 10:51am she had received a text to say that she had missed her appointment and to re arrange.
10 out of 10 for communication and to top it off she had taken time off work unpaid!
She was told by the receptionist to ignore the text message and she should have turned up for the 10:30am appointment.
So to all those who book appointments, ignore the times on the text reminders you receive as these could potentially be wrong! Call the surgery and confirm the time on the day before you get a what for!

Writing a good review because people frequently focus on the negatives with GPs.

To start, this practice has friendly receptionists, which I find are actually hard to come by! They gave me a phone call with the GP in the same morning for something that's probably considered non-urgent, all whilst being really easy to talk to. I phoned at 8:15, called by GP at 9:50 and was seen face to face at 11:30. Prescription also done for me, as well as sorting an unrelated prescription. The GP was really lovely and seem to care about my issue.

The fact this practice also lets us book in advance is very good. Many only do the "call at 8:00 and fight for a place in the queue for an appointment today - if you miss out on an appointment try the next day" which people simply don't have time for.

Thanks for a decent service, I hope it can be kept up.
