I don't feel some of these reviews are fair. Having been with the practice for over 10 years and every time I needed them they've been there. Today, for instance, I called in morning for an appointment and was seen before midday. The receptionists, nurses and doctor were all excellent. I can't fault them - highly proffesional, caring and understanding.

After seeing so many negative reviews I thought I’d post a positive one as I’ve had a really good experience with this doctors since signing up in September 2024. The staff there are really lovely, I get responses on the app very quickly if I message the surgery. Although the waiting times on the phone when calling up can be a bit long, it allows you to retain your position in the queue and they call you back which is so much better than sitting and waiting. I’ve seen Dr Katherine Miller and I can’t recommend her enough, she’s really lovely and she’s been helping me a lot recently with my post partum anxiety and other issues, she’s made me feel heard and suggested I have some tests done with other GP surgeries in the past have avoided. They’re great with trying to get me booked in for things like reminding me of my asthma reviews and calling to get my nearly 1 year old booked in for her immunisations.
I can’t fault the surgery. Considering how busy York is and the strain on the NHS at the moment, I get seen within good time too.

I haven’t had bad experiences with the nurses and doctors as such. But getting an appointment online is nearly impossible (even “12 weeks from now” is full there is no option to book any further) The receptionists have often been so patronising towards me whenever I’ve explained my symptoms and requested appointments. People warned me to choose a different practise but I don’t use the doctors that much so I wasn’t fussed. Now I am because I’m always scared to book in. 2 star though as the doctor my partner saw for a diabetic check up was an angel

The staff in the reception are very nice and helpful, and you can call them directly from their number in google maps. The doctor as well is helpful, patient and accurate in his notes. You have to book an appointment to do anything here, usually it is the same day or the day after. I recommend calling them before coming. The unity health i think is even better than York Hospital, and I recommend to go to unity health if possible before the hospital.

Rudest receptionists you’ll ever meet and seems like they have no idea what they are doing over the phone and in person. The only reason I stay is the convenience in location. People ringing up are ill and in need of some help, last thing you need is a rude receptionist speaking down the phone at you as if you’re a dog. They will try and avoid getting you an appointment at all costs, never known a gp surgery like it.

Avoid going here at all costs! It took two months and me having to go into the office for them to actually register me, and then when I fought to finally get an appointment they were running 20 minutes late and shoved me back out the door within 5 minutes. Especially avoid nurse Gaynor Bond, she is not interested in hearing your symptoms and will blame any illness on the fact that you're a student so you're bound to be ill 24/7.

Elizabeth who works at unity health is the kindest most assuring nurse I have ever met - she never fails to put a smile on my face, reassure my worries and make my day.

impatient receptionists. went to the pharmacy for OTC medicine and was told to make a gp appointment first to be sure of my illness. told this to receptionist who refused to give me an appintment even when the NHS website states to get one before going pharmacy if its the first time having this condition. very rude and short with me don’t bother
