Easily the best surgery I've every used, by a country mile! No idea why it has such a low review rating - all of the staff I've dealt with are amazing at their jobs, and they've done more for me in a month than my last surgery did in 3 years. Cannot recommend highly enough! Well done & thank you!

If you are able to use a different surgery then I would recommend you do. Getting past reception is almost impossible. Whenever I call, I find the staff unfriendly, unhelpful and obstructive. I'm worried that their attitude may cause suffering and lives.

Misinformation is also a concern as I've been given the wrong information on a number of occasions which has cost me a lot of wasted time and over £500 in private scans.

I've always been blessed with good health so haven't really needed to use a GP until recently. Despite having surgery, the staff here refuse to help. On one occasion, a member of staff informed me that I'd not had surgery and became quite agitated with me when I tried to convince her that she was incorrect.

My condition could be life threatening. On one occasion, after making that comment to the staff, I got the reply "I'm just a receptionist". I didn't find that helpful.

I have to say, Old School Surgery is the worst GP practice I have ever dealt with. The customer service is appalling—booking an appointment is a nightmare, and when you finally manage to get one, the wait is far too long. The doctors seem more interested in handing out paracetamol or other useless medications than actually resolving the problem. Instead of curing or addressing the root cause, they simply mask symptoms temporarily.

For instance, when I needed an appointment for my child after 8 AM, they told me to “just go to the hospital” rather than helping us directly. On another occasion, I went in with a lump, and the doctor prescribed antibiotics, but it was clear the issue required surgery. Instead of referring me to the hospital after the antibiotics didn’t work, I was told to go there myself—completely unprofessional and dismissive.

Unfortunately, unlike a restaurant, you can’t just switch to a different GP when the service is this bad. However, they desperately need to improve their approach, provide proper care, and start taking their patients seriously.

Honestly the rudest experience I’ve ever had over the phone with a doctors surgery. After calling regarding a recurring UTI and trying to explain the complexity of my case and history I was told ‘I can’t talk to you anymore due to the amount of people I have waiting on the phone and having to follow protocol’ not taking in to consideration anything I’ve communicated. Honestly outrageous service. Will be writing in to complain about the sheer rudeness and lack of empathy in the staff on the phone in the morning.

Absolutely fantastic surgery! Been using them for a couple of months, all the staff are amazing at their jobs! By far the best surgery I've ever been registered at!

Disgusting service. Booked for vaccine as recommended by surgery to be left standing in a queue outside for over an hour and half! Again, another example of seriously poor organisation and staff

The surgery advised me to attend for a blood pressure check which you are meant to carry out yourself with their machine in the waiting room. Machine out of order & the receptionist advised me to go & buy my own monitor. No one in the waiting room & all the doctors hiding behind closed doors. At no point was I offered a check by a resident doctor. Guess I’m buying my own monitor…
Pathetic really…I’d give zero stars if I could.

Worst GP surgery I’ve ever been with, which unfortunately coincides badly with an extended period of illness that they are both unable and clearly unwilling to diagnose. Doctors are rude and dismissive; extensive efforts to self manage for weeks before seeking help are met with annoyance rather than respect as it’s not as easy for them to tell you to go away and self manage if you’ve already done it!

Throwaway explanations for symptoms that just don’t fit, refusal to correlate all issues together; they repeat the same, obviously unsuitable tests over and over instead of looking at different options/conditions… any prompt to follow a lead to diagnosis is provided by me, never them. Wrong, often biased, info regularly recorded indelibly on medical records and communications from other health providers appear to be skim read and pertinent info missed, leading to further possible wastage of resource, which is then pinned upon the patient rather than the actual people responsible.

I know it’s extremely hard to be in this sector right now and I have every sympathy - this is why I am mindful of only approaching when there is true and valid cause! Yet still met with impatience, indifference and annoyance when seeking help after so long of trying to soldier on without it. Truly wish I didn’t have to see another doctor ever again as I have over time developed a severe aversion to them but it simply isn’t an option when living with but a fraction of the functionality that would allow for a decent life.

As a side and more positive note, I’ve always found the reception staff to be pretty kind and helpful! Not to invalidate anyone else’s experience of course but they’ve always seemed efficient and capable from my point of view.
