The staff can be so rude. I’ve asked for appointments and they never have any and today, I’ve called for an appointment after being seen by an ambulance crew last night and the young man on the phone is so sassy.
He was yawning when answering the phone to me this morning and gave such a sassy response back about not having appointments.

After I explained why I needed one, he said he’d call me back in an hour with an update. 2.5 hrs after that conversation, I called back and he says he doesn’t remover speaking to me. He updated me a doctor will get back to me and ended the call abruptly.

I don’t understand if some people don’t like their job, just leave? He is a prime example of this and gives doctors receptionist their typical stereotype.

Terrible GP.

I have been a patient here for years and have never been happy with the service. I don’t understand how this place is still running. I have a few friends who are also registered at this GP and they too are appalled by the service.

I feel that no one there takes me seriously, it’s impossible to even get through on the phone (unless you wait about 4 hours in a queue) let alone get an appointment. I have never walked out of this GP feeling the slightest bit satisfied. Most of the doctors I have seen here aren’t friendly and are not helpful. I have never felt comfortable talking to them.

I am now terrified of getting ill/sick as I believe that nothing will be done to help me. I have been left in immense amounts of pain causing my mental health to decline majorly and nothing has been done. It do not feel like they care the slightest bit.

I will be changing GP’s and would encourage everyone to avoid this place.

Imagine this: you have a health issue. You attempt to call your doctor to book an appointment. You are 30th in the queue. An hour later, you get through and describe your problem to the receptionist. The receptionist tells you you have to book through the website, where a certain number of appointments are made bookable at 8am each day. You log on the next day at 8.02. They’re all already booked. It takes a few days to book a slot. The slot is for two weeks time.

You may, in your naivitie, in your childish hope, you sweet innocent fool, think this appointment you’ve just booked is with a doctor. It kind of is, but only for a triage call over the phone. You explain your problem, and your doctor immediately identifies what you already knew - you need to come in for a face to face appointment. Your doctor books that for you. It’s in two more weeks time.

If you got bored reading that, imagine living it. The doctors themselves are fine, it’s getting to them that’s the problem. I genuinely believe dying of whatever ails me would be less painful than navigating this system 👍

The final straw for me was cancelling my appointment without rescheduling. I was on hold for 30 minutes to ask about rescheduling, the receptionist said she would send a link to book but she never did. I’ve moved centres now and I’m already having a much better experience.

HORRIBLE! If I could give them a zero then I would. I call as soon as they open all the time and still no appointments. Reception are not helpful at all and just dismiss you so they don’t have to deal with you. I honestly need to change GPs

I've been a patient at this practice for 20 years; I have multiple minor health conditions which require medication and I have always found the staff at Montpelier Health Centre to be helpful, friendly and totally ready to help as much as they can. I need to say this clearly: I DO NOT recognise the dire pictures painted by some of the people on here. I do understand how frustration at being ill can make people lash out especially if they are struggling with their mental health etc. I tell you what though - I shifted my preferred pharmacy from Jhoots next door, to Stokes Croft Pharmacy and now I can get all my meds without hassle! Jhoots kept telling me that stuff was 'not in stock' at their suppliers and Stokes Croft just rolled their eyes and said 'We can always get this'.

When my records were mailed over to the surgery, they lost part of my medical history. I had lump which required an inspection to deem if it was cancerous, it took 5 weeks to get an appointment, luckily it was benign. I then asked the surgery to fill out a form for the army, which takes 5 minutes to do, I submitted this in June 2023. Over the course of the next 7 months I went in 10 separate times filling out new request forms for my doctor to fill out the form as I was told it was still not done. Eventually I filled out a complaint form, which was answered, turns out the doctor took my official sensitive personal form home and lost it and just never told me on any of the repeat requests. He apologised and promised to fill it out as soon as I bring in a new one. The army then emailed the form so it couldn’t be lost, after THREE more repeat emails of the form plus, additional notifications, they still did not do it and I lost my place in the army. It’s beyond staggering the incompetence even worse that I am not embellishing the story. Luckily I have now moved and I can finally speak to a doctor. Do not bother.

The GPs themselves seem good, but actually finding a way to see them is close to impossible. New online 'Patient Access' app also doesn't allow you to book an appointment. What a mess...
