Almost impossible to get an appointment
The EConsult wasn’t available at 15:30 in the afternoon.
You are told told to phone at 08:30 but it is impossible to get through.
Calling at the practice you are told to use E consult or phone the next morning
Arriving for a clinic a few weeks back the surgery was closed for training and didn’t reopen until after my allotted time. Infirm elderly person who was queuing with me was forced to stand waiting to get in
All factual no opinions
Two pharmacies were tried but not able to help. Took my wife to A&E

Rude, inefficient and ineffective. Staff are brusque, abrupt and ill-mannered. Obtaining an appointment or discussing medical concerns is like getting through ‘the krypton factor’. As a patient I have absolutely zero respect for the practice. The saddest thing is that I fully believe they don’t care what you think about them. I may sound cynical but my partners practice just a few mile away over the border is a breath of fresh air. Pleasant staff, appointments and GP home visits readily available, efficient and effective medical care and a positive patient attitude. The current set up at Union Brae is a substantial regression from Doctors Knight and Fisken’s excellent practice where you really did feel part of a family practice and given the time and respect every patient deserves.

Getting an appointment is like getting blood from a stone, even an online referral hast to be done during a specific narrow window that anyone who works office hours hast to take time off to complete I can't see any reason why that should be the case other than that they're trying to avoid seeing you when your ill
Refusal to synchronise prescriptions for one or more chronic conditions "to reduce wastage" makes no sense and in fact wastes more packaging picking them up nearly every week instead of monthly wastes mine and the pharmacists time
Mental health provision is very weak as well, all you get is empty questions about what you want if it happens to be links to information on CBT and breathing exercises you could find for yourself in a fraction of the time and/or a sympathetic chat every month or so you want you'll be in luck. If your facing any serious mental ilhealth don't waste your time here
All in all of your able to travel out of town I suggest you register elsewhere

Pleasant staff and a clean and well kept building. However, there is no justification to continue to be using the current type of triage assessments to direct patients post-covid. This practice is limiting access to services and damaging important professional/patient relationships. This total use of triage is inappropriate and not evidence based. It is preventing proper management of people with chronic health conditions who are being forced to live from one crisis to the next. It is about time the practice returned to general practice.

Do everything they can to prevent you seeing a gp, absolutely awful service still operating like covid times. It's like the hunger games on a morning for the few daily appointments which are by phone or text anyway.

I have only ever had excellent health care provision from the clinical and admin team at this surgery in tweedmouth. Living in berwick we are very lucky to have access to a safe, professional and caring GP practice in this area of which I am very thankful. Keep up the good work for our community Union Brae!.
