I requested a health check visit since I have not done any health checks for last three years (I am 44 year-old).
The practice initially scheduled a visit, then it cancelled it 24 hours ahead with a text saying "You have done one check in the last 5 years and your next NHS health check is not yet due. Therefore your appointment is cancelled".
This is simply disgusting, I am paying more than £3,000/year of national insurance and I cannot even get an health check when asking for one.
I suggest to register to a different practice, one that takes better care of those registered.

Awful.
Dangerous Management.
I have been with this surgery since very young so this appalls and offends me.
Dr Cassells-Brown and Dr Wild would also be disgusted.
I was concerned because when a child I had repetive migraines and after suffering from a slight vision distortion on a Thursday night, I phoned early Friday morning to book an emergency appointment.
I was told by the receptionist (despite me telling her I was being treated for high blood pressure at York Medical Practice)to go to Specsavers but she booked me in for an appointment, the following Tuesday night with
a locum due to my persistence.
By 4pm on Friday afternoon, I thought I had a full on migraine, so went in person toYork Medicals Oak Lane surgery.
I was insistent with the receptionist and was told only one doctor remained.
I was getting more and more distressed when I saw Dr Amy Boughton clutching her briefcase on her way home. Evidently she had tried to phone me despite being 20 ft away in her room but I had not heard my phone.
She checked my blood pressure and immediately told the receptionist to call an Ambulance to go to Charing Cross Hospital, the specialist stroke hospital.
The Ambulance Crew were terrific medical professionals and got me there within forty- five minutes.
I was sixty one years old with perfect sight, I am now partially sighted, Thanks to York
Medical Practice.,
I had a lame call from Dr Boughton who accepted responsibility as a partner but no liability and I realised I was being soft- soaped.
Fortunately I had the foresight to record the conversation on my mobile phone.
I still hope to have a small lottery win in order to sue the Partners of this modern day shambles.
I have been a patient since the days of Dr Wilde but I am treated badly every few years.
On one occasion being misdiagnosed by a Dr Luthra as having sciatica.
After a second appointmentment a month later, I had completely lost confidence and asked to see Dr Thomas, the then head of the practice.
He referred me to Queen Square a specialist nerve hospital.
My treatment did not go well and I was eventually paralysed from the waist down.
My stroke came after Dr Thomas had retired, unfortunately.
This surgery takes on more patients than all the Drs and nurses can possibly cope with and they know this but it makes the Doctors more money.
This surgery is run for Doctors' profit
Dont have any allusion about it.
I would love to sue and win because if women and children are given priority over genuine emergencies from males they deserve to lose their cash.Lucy Hunt, you had every opportunity to liaise with me following the events of the stroke.
Instead after the meetings with the other partners, you decided the best way to deal with this was to try and sweep it under the carpet by asking Dr Boughton to telephone me to try and smooth things over.
You were spectacularly unsuccessful !
My living costs have skyrocketed since my eyesight deteriorated after the stroke and I have just spent six months in hospital and rising due to your practice.
My prescriptions are now being maliciously held up by your surgery or arriving incomplete.
All these things will form part of my cIaim.
I cannot use thein recording in Court but am happy to list on the internet for anyone looking up York Medical Practice.
She mentions the Partnership meeting held after my initial complaint and several other relevant details.
Sorry you object to facts but I related things as they happened and I will not be silenced to suit your corrupt business.

Hello.
All your staff are wonderful, starting from the reception, who are very communicative and helpful, to the nurses, who do their work with great passion, and ending with the doctors, who are excellent.

I want to thank Dr. Shoe Smith endlessly for always giving me solutions for the health problems that we as a family have had.

I wish you the best as a staff.

I have been with the practice now for 5 years and have been extremely impressed with the service received.

I have had no issues with getting an appointment and always seen to quickly.

All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The nursing team have been incredible and so so supportive.

I was recommended this practice when I moved here and would recommend it to anyone local.

Thank you to all the staff that make the experience so positive.

P.s. any women worried about there smear test etc. I can not fault the experience I have received, quick and pain free.

Doctors are very personable and caring. Very glad I moved to this practice almost 2 years ago. It is a marked improvement on another local practice.

I have recently moved from my previous practice HHMC of over 40 years as I had very variable and disappointing experiences.
So far every experience at this practice has been amazing. Whether its answering the phone, which usually takes no more than a minute even though you her you are sometimes in a seemingly long queue, they seem to get to you very quickly. Everyone is very polite and cheery which instantly puts you at ease and they are just the same when you go into to the practice.
Most importantly listen to you and are very sympathetic and supportive of your situation and extremely efficient
I cannot fault them!!
