My experience was very positive. I needed to come to Hope House and due to my phone anxiety there was a slight delay in an appointment time (just under 2 weeks) but this was only because I needed two appointments back to back and on the system this was the next available date. But because of my situation I said this was perfectly fine - no problem for me. I have no doubts they would have helped had it been more urgent.

Today I had my appointment. I arrived 15 minutes prior and was filling in the form, within a couple of minutes I was called through - absolutely no delays. I got to meet the lovely Claudia today who looked after me extremely well! She was warm, friendly, respectful, informative and took time and care with me. All other members of staff were equally as friendly from the receptionists to the nursing team.

I am unsure why there are some negative reviews, but please rest assured it doesn't reflect on all experiences, as mine was smooth and really positive . I left feeling very comforted and supported. Thank you Claudia and the rest of the team at Hope House Gloucester 😊😊

I have taken my partner to several appointments here now and they have been very helpful each time. The staff are very well mannered and the advice of the consultants has been spot on and helped considerably. Where GPs have failed to solve problems for over a year they solved them in a couple of visits. Also very happy to help with contraception when the GP refused to prescribe the combined pill because of their misunderstanding of migraine contraindications. Only downside is that there has been a 15-20 minute wait on a couple of occasions but I would assume that is because they are taking their time to help people.

This is the third time now. I consistently arrive at least 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment, yet each visit has been plagued by excessive delays. The first time, I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time. The second time was even worse—after waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes, I discovered the receptionist had forgotten to check me in. Most recently, I waited yet another hour. This is not only poor time management on your part but has also caused significant disruptions to my own schedule. This level of disorganization is unacceptable.

Aside from needing to call at 8am sharp or you have to wait until the next day, the root cause truth for why they aren’t a very good service is because the staff actually don’t really care, although on the surface they will try to appear that way, you can tell by the attitude of the staff in person or on phone.

My experience here and through extra research on STDs show that the testing methods they do here for men is actually inaccurate for most STDs.
Also the range of STDs tested here for men and women are limited, such as they don’t test for mycoplasma, trichomansias or other variants of STDs as there are no just one version of Chlamydia for example.

The corruption here actually extends into the corrupt service of the NHS itself, such that all GPs will refer you to this incomplete service for any sexual health or urological symptoms you explain to them, thus continuing the cycle of not actually being fully investigated properly and therefore treated, also thus adding to the ‘backlog’ of NHS patients but thats another story.

Lastly there is an Asian female nurse/doctor who is only their for the ‘status’ of being a ‘doctor’, she doesn’t care for the patient and says things to hurry you along so watch out for her.

All in all, to save yourself like unfortunately most things in this corrupt country/system is to learn to figure it out yourself and in this case pay privately to get the tests you need from labs out there that do comprehensive testing, you deserve better.

Okay thats it for me, save yourself, don’t let the inaccurate authorities of the NHS medical system stop you from fully healing, you can get cured, you just need to find loopholes to the system that keep us sick 👌🏼

Had my IUD removed by then after 2 weeks with it in(local doctors put it in) they were absolutely fabulous in being able to fit me in an emergency appointment when they were so busy, it was causing me far too much pain and they got it out without a hitch in like 5seconds! Very good advice and consultation to go with it, just a really nice place facilities are clean, and yes it takes a while to get them on the phone but their actual care is amazing, thank you and special mention to Lil- you were awesome!!! So happy to be pain free 😊

Medical team are lovely and reception staff do their best but not enough appointments. I was told to ring a month before appointment but always full. Unable to book on earlier as booking calendar does not go further than a month, ridiculous process.

I have been a patient at hope house since 2010. The staff are excellent and always go the extra mile to help where they can. You might have a slight delay with appointments, but please remember they do have a lot of clients to see and they are stretched. I have to say that some comments on here are at best complete rubbish. Staff are here to help you through your journey and they do their best. Big thank you to all who have helped me on my journey over the years.
