I just had to share our amazing experience at Dove Farm Cottages, where we recently held our weekend retreat. You know when a place just feels right from the moment you arrive? That's exactly what we found here.

The cottages themselves are absolutely lovely - they've managed to keep all that wonderful character and charm while providing everything you could possibly need (and then some!). It didn't feel like your typical holiday rental at all - it felt like coming home. Everything was spotlessly clean, but not in that sterile, impersonal way - it was just perfect.

The Dove Studio was such a fantastic space for our group activities. We used it for everything - from our morning dance sessions to afternoon crafting, evening talks, and even a sound bath. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, and it became this wonderful hub where we all naturally gathered throughout the day.

But what really made it special was the setting. Being surrounded by the farm animals and beautiful countryside just added this extra layer of peace to our retreat. There's something so calming about waking up to see the animals going about their day. It's like a little slice of paradise in Derbyshire.

The attention to detail in the cottages is spot on - they've thought of everything you might need, right down to the smallest items. It's those little touches that make such a difference.

If you're looking for somewhere that combines comfort, character, and charm - especially for a group gathering or retreat - I couldn't recommend Dove Farm highly enough. It's one of those rare finds that actually exceeds your expectations.

We recently stayed as a large family group for a big birthday and had a great time. The cottages are spacious yet cosy and the additional hall was perfect for group meals. Location is beautiful and you can do some nice country walks right from the doorstep. Communication with owners was excellent throughout the booking process and stay. Highly recommended.

Just wanted to say thank you again to Jane for a lovely weekend. The accommodation was absolutely perfect and had everything we needed - couldn’t have asked for a better space. The studio room was such a great bonus, allowing us to bring external activities to us and the village hall was only a 15 minute walk up the road. You were so kind and friendly, making us feel welcome and helping me through the whole booking process and answering any questions. Thanks again, I’d love to come and stay in the future!

Me and 11 friends stayed at Dove Farm and it was perfect for our needs. There are three separate units and an extra large space that we used to eating inside. There is also a really nice contained courtyard where we spent most of our time. We were all very happy and the area is lovely

The properties are really delightful, spacious and furnished with a welcome! The large dining room that everyone can use when in a large party is a fantastic and unusual feature. We had a great stay with walks from the farm. We may be booking again for 2025!

Pent the weekend with friends and 2 dogs at Dove farm. A beautiful location. Particularly enjoyed the contained outside area and studio areas for spending time together. Rooms were comfortable and all needs well catered for.

Just back from a brilliant short break for a family of 4 at Swallow Cottage on Dove Farm Cottages. The cottage was perfect - really pretty and cosy and with everything you could possibly need. Very good price too. We loved it! We were down to visit Alton Towers for a mid-week break and the location was perfect - a 9 minute easy drive away. Host Jane was just lovely and so helpful! We stayed in one of the the three cottages and nothing was too much trouble. Lots of lovely places to eat nearby and we loved being able to self-cater as well. Would highly recommend this property and we will definitely be back next year!

It was such a joy to hold our restorative new year's retreat at the beautiful Dove Farm this January. The cottages and river walk created a magical and peaceful space. We baked bread in the fabulously well kitted kitchens and held our workshops in the spacious Dove Studio. Thank you Jane for such a special start to 2024!
