Attended at quite short notice suffering from a nasty eye infection. Very pleased with my thorough consultation, a thoughtful discussion about remedies, and their prompt provision. They must have been under considerable seasonal pressure, just prior to Christmas. But there was still a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Well done...

Rang this morning with a worrying symptom
Was given an appointment at 10.10.
Saw a lovely dr who was thorough, kind and reassuring. Only negative had to wait over an hour for a blood test however grateful for same day service.

I don't think I have ever seen the same GP twice. Maybe happened at some point but certainly not the norm. I have never seen my "named GP". They seem to get through a lot of locums so it mustn't be just the patients that they upset. The holding message on the telephone (which you get to hear a lot) states "You can book, cancel or view appointments online" whereas that is simply not true. Only blood tests or physio' can be booked online, not a GP appointment. I think they make an effort with newly registered patients, perhaps in trying to get good reviews but they soon drop to the level of the rest of the NHS. The amount of effort to get the simplest thing arranged is prohibitive. The reception and administrative staff are argumentative and inefficient to put it nicely. Of course if you are a UK national then you are forced to pay for this by law and this is what you get. It would never survive as a commercial operation. Dreadful. Other practices in the area are no better though as due to poor health and poor service I have had to use a number of them. One was worse but this is far from good. A bad attitude is the key problem. The patient is an inconvenience to be tolerated at best and berated if they dare to question how anything is done. When administrative staff are putting personal comments on patient medical records there is something badly wrong.

Dr Curry is genuinely one of the nicest GPs I've ever met. Two of the receptionists are outstanding. I recently went through a very scary experience and their kindness was really appreciated. The Administration Team are really fantastic. Ashbourne has almost doubled in population over the years, but still only has two surgeries, yet the whole surgery goes above and beyond and takes such great care over each individual patient. Really a fantastic GP Practice.

Like all GP Surgeries sometimes its hard to get through therefore thought I would email as my query was not urgent, I have received the best, helpful, comprehensive service by a lady called Gill Rasdall. She has emailed me updates without even being asked, she is friendly and really is happy to help. Thankyou Gill honestly you have single handly changed my opinion of dealing with GPs when it is in the media so much recently. Everyone needs a Gill in your local surgery, Thank you again
