Receptionists are always lovely and helpful, don't know what other people complain about.
Yes, you can't make an appointment straight away, usually it's around a months wait but it's like this everywhere you go.
But I always got an emergency appointment if I called first thing in the morning 🙂

I have nothing but praise for Desborough Surgery following my first experience last week. From booking to appointment, I had a simple and straight forward service. I submitted my online appointment request form and received a text an hour later with an appointment for that day. I saw Dr Fatima who was so caring and understanding, sharing her experience with me. Dr Fatima carried out a thorough and comprehensive examination to ensure she’d covered all bases, dealing with 3 issues I had in the one appointment. I have previously experienced a GP at another surgery telling me I really should have booked a double appointment if I needed to discuss more than one issue but there was none of that here whatsoever! The receptionist was a really warm and welcoming woman with blonde hair and low lights underneath (I’m so sorry, I did not get her name!) who, when I went back in as I’d forgotten my prescription, explained to me that they were digital and even kindly checked my patient record, advising me that the doctor was still updating my notes but that my prescriptions were set to go to my local pharmacy and should be there by the afternoon. She helped me book my appointment with the in-house Physio (another service offered that I was very impressed by!) giving me options so that I could book at a time convenient for me.

The aftercare was brilliant and Dr Fatima really made me feel as though she cared about my progress - requesting that I call her the following week to update her which I did and again, she was quick to respond positively - signing me off work and sending my note digitally within 10 minutes of me putting the phone down. She sent me details to book urgent blood tests as she again reiterated that she wanted to check all of my levels to be sure there is nothing underlying.

Overall, I have been so impressed and having only needed to visit on this one occasion, I feel reassured and positive about mine and my family’s future needs regarding our doctor’s surgery. Thank you very much to the doctors and staff for their hard work and support!

Once you get through the door the service is fine, but getting an appointment is awful. Time is wasted with ring backs. Always end up going in, so technically you’ve used two appointments. Also, after you have rung for test results the receptionist won’t just book a follow up appointment, you have to go back to the online booking system. Should be able to book follow up straight away. Took me a week to get initial ring back, then 3 days before I could get a follow up appointment. No wonder people go straight to A&E.

Extremely impressed and grateful for the speed at which my situation was dealt with. From submitting my medical problem via the online system at around 7.30, my request was triaged about an hour later, I booked an appointment for 10:10 and within 40 minutes later I had my medication.

Updated appointment system works for me. I was never able to get them at 8am, got stuck in the phone queue and ended up shelving health concerns.
Yes, you have to use the online system between 7am and 10am and then their guys triage the requests. My last issues were non-urgent (but important) check-ups and I had my appointment for a couple days later, in one case a week later. 4 stars because you still only have a 3 hour window and might not been seen as quickly as you like but once you're in they do look after you.
When booking, be clear in what problems you have because after they triage that's it. So if you feel it's urgent I would express that.

Criminal practice. Refused to prescribe medication to a child as told to by a Hospital and Consultant. Receptionists will hang up on you and Doctors tell you it's not their problem. Will then play the "threatening behaviour" on call card. Unfortunately for these Criminals, modern smartphones can record calls for evidence to be passed to the CQC.

Ridiculous
Cannot book an appointment.

They made changes to an online booking system “to avoid the 8am scramble to make an appointment on the phone”

Except you can only book between 7am and 10am

And even then they only have a limited jujber of requests

By 8am this morning there were no more requests
Going to have to set a 7am alarm for Monday now to make an appointment
