Reception are polite and friendly despite being under a lot of pressure.
However, the female doctor I saw after transferring here from Northampton, was unbelievably abrupt.
No sympathy at all. When I said I had problems with my health and living issues, she said "whys that my problem?". I actually moved abroad because I was sick of Kettering, and she was so rude.
They won't help you. Sign up elsewhere.

The reception ladies (especially the young one) were very unpleasant. You have to wait 2 weeks to see a doctor, no interest in the patient. The only advantage of this place are the nurses, who deserve 5 stars for their work and approach to patients.

I’m saddened to see what was once a brilliant Doctors Surgery, now become a waste of taxpayers money. Having to wait two weeks for an appointment is ridiculous. Being told they can only offer you a telephone appointment in two weeks time is ridiculous. But what I find even more ridiculous is when a family member phones up for an appointment, explains to a receptionist ( someone with no medical training) that their three year old daughter is crying with earache and would like to see a Gp asap, to be told there are no appointments available, but they (the medically unqualified) suggest taking the crying infant to Corby drop in/ Diagnostic centre. Why bother having a surgery at all? People who are genuinely unwell CAN NOT wait two weeks to speak to a GP. People who are unwell can not travel over to Corby and wait around to see a Doctor. The purpose of a Doctors Surgery is to offer medical care in the Community. Isn’t it?

Just rang the doctors for an emergency appointment to see my GP, I spoke to a lady on reception, she asked me what my appointment was about, I said it's personal and embarrassing and I got really emotional, I said to her I will contact the General medical council about this, she said I need to know what your problem is, I said I won't give you it, she said I won't give you an appointment, so she backed me into a corner and made me cry, so in the end I told her, and she still didn't give me an appointment, I am seriously depressed and I feel like killing myself. The way she talked to me on the phone was absolutely disgusting. This isn't the first time this has happened, I have friends who have informed me that she is really nosey about patients, she had no right to ask what patient issues are, she is only a receptionist, she works as part of a team yes, but she has no right to push a patient to the brink to which they are scared to make an appointment. I have read wgat a receptionist can ask, they can ask you what your problem is, but if the patient says they don't want to tell the receptionist the problem then they should back down. The lady on reception has really destroyed my mental health with her bossy horrible approach to this, all the other staff on reception are lovely. I feel absolutely sick and scared because of her. The way she speaks to people is absolutely disgusting. I will complain to the general medical council about her. Very disappointed today, you have driven me to the brink of no return.

Had a really lovely service from the reception team when I walked in the other day to make a query. Especially from Jo, you can see she was passionate about helping me and made me feel listen to and understood. Honestly you could tell Jo really wanted to help. Thankyou Jo. 😁

This evening I called the surgery to make an appointment with my GP. I was number three in the queue when I started. Quickly went to number one, then after 45 minutes of being at number one in the queue, I decided to drive to the surgery to see why I couldn't get through. The male receptionist was lounging on his chair, arms resting behind his head. The female with the long blond hair was stood up chatting to him. She quickly went to her desk and all of a sudden the phone ringer was back on as I could hear it. I was still on the phone to them, he argued with me that the phones were on the whole time. So why was it ringing my end and not theirs? Because they muted the ringing that's why. They were caught out and they knew it. I was in the queue for 50 minutes in total and no apology was offered. Not acceptable service in any workplace, let alone a well respected surgery like Dryland is.

I deal with lots of different surgery’s on a daily basis with my job, but Dryland surgery & staff are brilliant never cease to amaze me. How do they get it so right, when all the others get it so wrong. They really are fantastic. Receptionists are always lovely and I never wait for long for them to answer the phone. I have the same GP, ALWAYS. Don’t wait long for appointments or offered an appointment with the nurse. Really can’t think of anything negative to say about any of them. Just hope that to many people don’t register with them and they get so busy, they lose their unique ability to you feel like a person and not a number.

I would firstly like to know if the receptionist at your practice are medical trained?
Secondly are they trained how to speak with elderly patients one the phone? My mother called this morning and the receptionist was very rude to her on the phone, and a complaint will be sent in.
