i had never ordered a repeat prescription before so i called to ask. lady on the phone didnt let me speak and shouted at me because she assumed that i wanted another prescription and that i was a medication addict, when all i was asking was if my most recent prescription was at the pharmacy. when i told her she just went "oh" and at the end of the phone call she didnt say anything and just hung up. this experience made me avoid the doctors for a very long time and i still hesitate to call. not just that but the medical gaslighting that this practice holds is disgraceful and is enough evidence to think that none of the staff, the receptionist or the doctors, actually care! i can go on and on about this gp, but the fact that this gp is 2.5 stars says enough. dont sign up here!!!!

Horrible surgery. Dr Malik is the worst of them all, doesn’t care at all. Receptionist are useless, when you tell them that you need urgent appointment for a child and they offer you appointment after 2 weeks. I have sent multiple inquiries and calls to link my children profile with mine to book appointment online and it’s been years but it hasn’t done yet. I’m changing my surgery soon.

Really hard to book appointments usually!
Impatient staff on the phone who do not care about patients
On a one off you might get a nice woman but otherwise rude staff are the case…

Jackie and Helen, the nurses, are simply amazing. Such an expert and superb professionals who are solely concerned with the health of the patient. The attention and care my husband and I got was invaluable, and I am grateful beyond words. They never fail to be encouraging, helpful, patient, and kind. They both are the real stars and heroes at Belmont and Benhill GP surgery. Sadly, not all doctors are good as the nurses are. Some of them neglected the health problems which complicated the condition later.
Kindly recognise the nurses for their diligent and committed work and make every effort to retain them at the GP practice, as they are the sole reason we continue to be your patients.

The receptionist staff are wildly incapable, incompetent and incredibly rude. Having to call here when you are ill is often the worst part of being ill. Trying to book a doctors appointment as you are unwell and calling up to be greeted by a middle aged woman who obviously has had no professional training and is repeatedly sighing on the phone when I called at 8am this morning and she was using such an accusatory tone with me as if I should have known the cut off times for different parts of the surgery. I said to her politely ‘sorry, I’m confused by your tone as it’s suggesting I should have known something that I would only know if I worked here’ the woman scoffed, spoke loudly over me so I couldn’t finish what I was saying and hung up. We all work, calling a receptionist to make an appointment should never be as hard as it is to book at this surgery. It has been the same for years and clearly reflected in these other reviews. I phoned back to speak to another lady in order to book my appointment and when I said I am unable to answer during the day she politely suggested before I could explain for later times for the doctor to call me. Showing that the actions of the woman beforehand were totally unnecessary. Your receptionist staff need reviewing seriously, and whoever this woman is should either be on a receptionist training course or at home reading a book, rather than on the phone to sick people acting like her life is hard.

Calling to have an appointment as soon as the line was open as have been all night up with my toddler being so unwell, my child has high fever and his temperature is not responding to Calpol, the best the ladies could offer is an appointment next week,,obviously can not keep my child with high temperature for 2 weeks and I am not happy therefore the ladies at the reception thought it was nice to close the line just because they can and obviously they are showing all the care they can by just closing the phone ?
These women should NOT be working in there. Have been patient of this surgery for 10 years but never anyone closed the phone while still talking , today they did it not once but twice.Called for an appointment the answer is next week maybe . Called the second time for a home visit or at least a phone call and all I got is their indifference and again the phone was put down while I was asking :" based on what policy I should keep my child in this condition till next week?
Where are we going with this behaviour?
it is scary the way they treat our children it is unacceptable.
Am I to keep my child with high temperature till next week not knowing what he is suffering from ?
If they can not care about our children what is their purpose in there?
My child has high temperature since Friday and there is no way to check him apparently they did not even book a phone call ?
I only thank God that we do not call often these women because obviously it is a nightmare to deal with them.
If they fail to look after children they must quit their job.

I cannot recommend this practice. I echo previous reviews of Dr Malik. He does not give the impression that he cares for his patients.
I have tried to get an appointment for my daughter to be looked at in person after already having two phone appointments that didn't lead to a diagnosis. The two receptionists I spoke to were not able to give me an appointment 1) because the calendar for the next week wasn't up, 2) because she can't give me a face to face appointment. Both responses seemed 'computer say no'. I explained that I had already had two phone appointments and had also send photos with no response. The issue doesn't photograph well and the receptionist actually agreed with that but still wasn't able to give me a proper appointment. When given a phone appointment time you have to sit by the phone and immediately pick up. on one occasion I was in the middle of a work phone call. I had warned the attendants that my doctor might call, so when he did I literally said 'have to go', hang up and then picked up the phone. Too late. I immediately returned the call but nobody picked up. So then I had to go through the whole rigmarole of making an appointment again.
I am unbelievably frustrated with this practice now. I have written a letter of complaint but I may just look for a different surgery. I don't have the energy for having to fight to get some half decent treatment
I cannot recommend this practice. Do not go here

I spoke to Dr Malik on 19th July to request a MatB1 form. He discussed my details and due date over the phone and told me that he will prepare the form for me to collect from the Benhill Avenue GP surgery. I went to the surgery on 28th July and still the form was not ready. The reception staff told me that they don't know when this form going to be signed by the doctor. I 1st had to wait for the call for a week which i had on the 19th July and now I have to wait further for this form to be signed. We understand the pressure on NHS and the staffing issues but at the same time the doctors also should understand patient's situation and our time! The reception staff was clueless and wasn't even checking if doctor have left a pre signed form for me or not!
