To whom this may concern,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the unacceptable behavior of your receptionist, Shaabaz, during our recent visit to your practice.
My father, who was in unbearable pain, had an appointment and arrived within the 10-minute grace period. However, Shaabaz refused to let us see the doctor, showing no willingness to understand our situation. Instead of assisting us with empathy, he was rude, dismissive, and continuously spoke over us. His lack of professionalism and compassion was deeply concerning, especially given the vulnerable state my father was in.
When I requested multiple times to speak to a senior member of staff, Shaabaz outright denied me that right, stating that senior staff were too busy with meetings to deal with "patients like us." This dismissive and derogatory attitude is completely unacceptable in a healthcare environment. Left with no other option, I shared my concerns with a nurse who was leaving the office. She kindly conveyed my complaint on my behalf, but despite this, Shaabaz only pretended to escalate the matter and never actually spoke to the GP my father was supposed to see.
This entire incident is captured on CCTV, and I firmly believe that Shaabaz requires further training on diversity, equality, and basic patient care. If all receptionists were to treat patients in such an unprofessional and disrespectful manner, it would severely damage the reputation of the practice.
I would like to sincerely thank the nurse who stepped in to assist us. However, I strongly urge the practice to address this matter seriously. A discussion should be had with Shaabaz regarding his conduct, and steps should be taken to ensure that no other patient has to endure such treatment.
I look forward to your response and to hearing what actions will be taken to prevent such occurrences in the future.
Sincerely,
Miss Azouan

I'm not sure why there are so many low Google reviews as my experience with this GP Practice has been absolutely phenomenal. Whenever I call, the receptionists are always polite, friendly and helpful. I always receive a prompt appointment, usually within a day or two of calling the practice. The staff are all wonderful and I always feel listened and cared for. Over the past few months I've had to book several appointments, and I'm subsequently always bragging about my GP to my friends because I feel like it's so rare in the current climate to have a GP as brilliant as this one!

Never had an issue with this practice. Call up for an appointment and they are always polite, they give me an apt in a timely manner depending on urgency for both myself and my children. The doctors I have seen have been professional and welcoming. There is usually a parking space outside and the areas are clean.

Well . Here goes . Had an issue this evening with my local chemist ( a perscription item not in stock and they needed dr to sort out something etc) I went Stright to the centre and informed em of chemists problem. I was put onto a concerned lady called Ester who I can say went over and beyond to source another chemist who had the item I needed . I honestly can say I received the best attention to resolve my issue. This lady showed concern and empathy, she is a credit to this practice….. well done Wiodhouse for employing this ‘I will sort this’ attitude person . If everyone had her outlook and mindfulness the world will be fabulous. Thanks again you have my vote

Doctors are always friendly and treat you suitably for illness. Most receptionist staff are helpful and polite despite it being a stressful role. I have had a few bad experiences with one receptionist on several occasions. On one occasion I was severely ill with a chest infection, a family member rang to try get an appointment for me, and was told there were no appointments left (which is fair enough). The member of staff advised I headed to the walk in centre. Because I was so ill at the time I was unable to get myself to the walk-in centre as I do not own my own form of transport - my family member also explained that I have suffered from anxiety from a young age and that I would not go because of this complication. The staff member told me to ‘stop being silly’.

On another occasion I was on a visit to see my family. While on the visit my blue preventer for asthma had run out. We rang the doctors to see if they could send a prescription to a local chemist and explained the situation. The staff member asked if we could go pick it up - it would have been a 2.5 hour round trip to pick my medication up from home. The staff member then said it’s my responsibility, which is fair enough and I respect that. I had picked up my inhaler which only had a few doses left which I didn’t realise when picking up. The staff member continued to too and throw and couldn’t give us much of a solution and said it could take 48 hours. Eventually we came to the conclusion that I could go to the local chemist and ask them to ring the surgery.

Both interactions felt very unnecessary and were made to feel as though we were a nuisance, when this is the place to go for medical attention. Nevertheless, most of my visits to this GP have been positive, I just felt these two interactions in particular should be made aware.
