My wife and I have been with this practice for about 30 years and in our early years it was fantastic; great reception staff and an allocated doctor! We rarely ever needed to go there. When the “old team” of doctors retired the practice started to change, after the move to Macintosh Street a new ethos started! You didn’t have a choice of doctors, you were part of the practice, things became based around the dreaded 8am telephone scramble for an appointment! It really depends on who you had on reception as to what happened next if you couldn’t get through by telephone. The general medical team and facilities provided are very good, but things have changed! We have now moved 1.5 miles and have been given under 30 days to find another surgery, as my wife is in the depths of cancer treatment the abrupt requirement is very unwelcome!
Sadly, information from our new neighbours doesn’t feel me with happiness about the local alternatives!

I am very grateful for the doctor who referred me straight away when I had a telephone consultation. Thank you for really listening to me. I always appreciate everything this surgery tries to do even with the massive NHS pressures they are under that is affecting all sectors. Thank you for everything you do.

GP surgeries in general get a bad press sometimes but my experience of my Bromley Common Practice has always been positive. The reception team go the extra mile to help with queries when I call. Reception team are friendly and approachable. All of the GP's I see are experienced and empathetic. I particularly like Dr. Wijayatilake's GP approach as she always she always seems to have a humanistic and curious approach to things. Dr. Patel has also been helpful & Nurse Anne is 5*.
If I've phoned exactly 8am and waited in line, I've usually managed to get an appointment eventually on the day. I actually prefer E-consults to phoning etc most of the time, while appreciate older generation may struggle with this.

From missing two hospital referrers never get a appointment staff don’t want to do anything to help just tell you to go A&E doctors only there for money working 2-3 days a weeks maybe get staff that want to work at least 4 days a week you’ll be able to offer a better service

Very difficult to get an appointment. Never experienced this in other boroughs I lived in. I even completed an form online as directed by the surgery to try get a GP's advice or an appointment. That was nearly a month ago and still no reply. Very disappointing service.

I am incredibly frustrated with my experience at this doctor's surgery. Over the past few years I have consistently struggled to get an appointment. It seems nearly impossible to see a doctor when needed and can only get telephone appts which are useless.

Most concerning was the handling of my son's severe glue ear condition. We waited an agonizing 11 months for a referral, which is unacceptable for a health issue that requires timely attention.

To make matters worse, I was deregistered without any notification after being a patient for 16 years. This lack of communication is not only unprofessional but also deeply disappointing.

Throughout this entire experience, I have felt a distinct lack of empathy from the doctors. It seems like patient care is not a priority here. I would not recommend this surgery to anyone looking for compassionate and reliable medical support.

My family and I have been patients at the Bromley Common surgery for many years. The doctors, nurses, and reception staff have always been friendly and professional. Having experienced some other European public healthcare systems firsthand, I'm continually impressed by how well the NHS operates. It’s true that you might not always get a same-day doctor's appointment, but I think that’s rare in any public healthcare system. A huge thank you to everyone at the surgery for your excellent care!

I find it unbelievable that I can probably book a table at a restaurant in Beijing right now yet I can’t book a GP’s appointment a mile away - I’m going to fill in a form and you’re going to get back to me urgently within 2 days 🤷‍♂️ seriously 🤷‍♂️ thank goodness I have private healthcare
