I am shocked by all the negative reviews for this Surgery!
All of my experiences have always been very positive, The receptionist’s and doctors have always been friendly, polite and efficient in assisting me with what I’ve needed in the way of medication and support.
I understand that sometimes appointments are later then expected or we wait longer on the phone to get an appointment but that is a problem throughout the NHS, I feel all of the Southborough Lane staff and doctors do a fantastic job all round, especially considering the amount of pressure they are under on a daily basis, So a big thank you to all 🤩

I am humbled with my recent experiences at Southborough Lane Surgery. On two occasions, needing help for my husband who is terminally ill and myself. I am very grateful for the dedication of the doctors, nurses and admin staff. I would like to thank them for there knowledge, professional and very good care we have both received.
I spent 30 yrs as a nurse in the NHS so experience such excellent care from surgery and how well the NHS works.
Very grateful patient.

I went to speak about my 14 uear old daughter who has various health issues aroun 13:50 hrs on 8th Oct.

A pediatrician who saw her two weeks ago made a request for her blood test to be done but I haven't heard from the GP. The pediatrician also pointed out that there was an allegy test requested for my daughter but it was cancelled as we didn't attend.

The GP have never contacted us about the allergy test nor the blood test.

When I tried to speak with the receptionist, she said my daughter needed to give them permission to speak to me about her.

As the building has terrible reception for the calls and mobile data, I had hard time getting a hold of my daughter at school and have her speak to the receptionist.

We managed to get her permission but the receptionist was being extremely impatient with me. She told me she would have her colleague to deal with me.

A lady came out already giving me a dirty look. She said she would look into it for me and then went inside never to come out.

I pleaded with the receptionist that I needed to get back to work but she just said her colleague was dealing with me.

Eventually, I had to just leave to get back to work.

The GPs are lovely there but due to these two staffmembers today, I am going to change my GP surgery and will make sure to share my experience with friends and family.

I had stitches 2 weeks ago and was told by the hospital to book an appointment with the doctors to have it checked a week later which I did, when I arrived I was told I had no appointment considering I rang at 8am that day. When I had the stitches in I was again told by the hospital to book an appointment for 2 weeks to have them removed at the surgery, which again I did. I arrived to be told AGAIN I had no appointment booked. I was then told by the receptionist I should attend urgent care to have them removed which I politely declined as it was their mistake and not mine. I also have a young baby and I refuse to sit at urgent care for hours. I don’t understand why my appointments are not being booked on their end considering I’m being told they are booked!!

Just had a great experience at the flu clinic. It was fast and efficient and I was also offered a blood pressure test, which I accepted.

Like many GP practices there are pressures on GPs and it can be difficult to get an appointment to see a GP (I particularly dislike being fobbed off with a physicians associate) but I don't think this is much different from many other practices and is not so much a reflection on this practice as a problem generally with the NHS. I've always been treated kindly and with respect.

Set up the NHS App for my husband as I told him it would be easier to book an appointment on-line rather than sitting endlessly waiting for them to answer the phone! You cannot even do this now! The only appointments you can book on-line via the drop down list is a smear test? How absolutely ridiculous!

Awful practice!! Receptionist Dawn is extremely rude and unhelpful. I have been with this surgery for 40 years and seen a decline over the years, but I can honestly say now it’s horrendous.
If you don’t like your job or lack the qualities needed find another one
