I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at the RUH who saved my husband’s life when he arrived in A&E with a life-threatening infection. I cannot speak highly enough of the care, compassion, and skill he received. From the remarkable expertise of the MaxFax surgeons, to the dedication of the nurses in intensive care and on the ward, and even the good humour of the porters — every single person played a part in his recovery. We are profoundly grateful.

I've spent more time than I'd like at the RUH, but never had a bad experience. Special thanks to the IBD department, urology, maternity, and the team on Robin Smith ward. All the doctors, nurses and midwives I've dealt with across all departments have been so helpful and reassuring. This hospital is a credit to the NHS.

I have been in a lot of different departments in the Royal, the pain clinic was the most rude and unfriendly. I am glad I now go to a different department. Urinary department very professional and super friendly and helpful. A & E the same as the Urinary department but they need more staff I feel sorry for them. Radiology, the staff downstairs are amazing but unfortunately when I had to go upstairs it was awful the male doctor was rude and made me feel so uncomfortable, I couldn’t wait to get out of there. He shouter at me. I think some of them are snobs and look down on you. The female nurses are great, normally I find males friendlier but not in this hospital

I have nothing but praise for the care I have received here during my multiple operations for kidney stone removal over the last 9 months. The nursing was certainly on a par with anything that would take place in a private clinic. The surgical and anaesthetist teams were firstclass and totally approachable. A great experience each time!

Yet again a fabulous service at the A & E dept here. Huge thanks to Sally in reception, Ed and Siobhan in A&E and Jessie in X-ray in sorting me out after a fall off a bike. Thank you all - you could not have been nicer or more professional.

Just tried to call to rearrange an appointment. After a long smarmy message warning me I’d better have my hospital number and detailing all the things the department I was calling could not help with, I got through to a message telling me due to “exceptional call volumes” I had to call back later and was then hung up on. I just hope the cynical, lazy people who are responsible for such things get a taste of their own medicine one day. “Shall we offer a queuing facility? An answerphone? An online form even? Nah. Can’t be bothered mate”

Today I have been in for Surgery to remove a shard of tooth which was causing issues in my gum and causing infection.I should like to compliment both the Surgeon/Dentist who carried out the operation which I was dreading, who made sure at all times I was comfortable and not feeling any pain as a result of the treatment, also his Nurse aide Helen who was a very reassuring presence.
Despite it's problems, our Health service is still the best when it matters.
Thank you to all the team at Oral maxillofacial department

The hospital feels like an art museum lol. Lots of paintings everywhere and then I found a stunning room by the cafe. Smells very clean, looks clean. Modern bathrooms. Thanks for looking after my uncle Phil!
