I can’t praise this pharmacy enough! They went above and beyond to order my rescue pack in one day. Any urgently repeat prescriptions are sent immediately to the doctors. They are always courteous and friendly.

Regent Pharmacy in East Cowes it is unacceptable for a pharmacy to dispense medication for my partner's cancer without providing the necessary means for its administration, especially when it leaves him in a position where he cannot give himself the treatment he needs. This situation is causing us significant unhappiness and concern.
From a patient's perspective, when a prescription is collected, it is reasonably expected that all necessary components for its administration would be included. For injectable medications, this would typically involve the appropriate syringes and needles. To be provided with the medication but not the means to administer it creates a serious barrier to care.
I understand his rights and generally, pharmacies have a responsibility to ensure that dispensed medications can be used safely and effectively by the patient.

I clearly explained the urgency due to my partner's condition and the lack of any other way to administer the medication.

* NHS Guidelines: While specific guidelines for dispensing syringes alongside prescribed medication might vary, the general principle of patient safety and access to necessary treatment should prevail. NHS pharmacies are generally expected to facilitate the proper use of prescribed medications.
* Patient Rights: As a patient, my partner has the right to receive the medication and necessary supplies to administer it as prescribed. Hindering this access without a clear and valid reason is concerning.

Furthermore it is Easter bank holiday weekend and our collection says for his pain relief is Monday and Thursday and this is an essential drug he has to take every day throughout the day and night and they did not inform us that they would not be open Monday so to collect today, further to that I went to get the items today due to them being shut Monday and they didn't have midazolam in stock which is disorganised and a lack of planning which will hinder my partner's care yet again.

All of this was moved from the hospice to regents to make our life easier as it's closer to home and all in one place but yet they are hindering our rights to administer injections safely and for him to have his prescription on time!

This situation is causing unnecessary stress during an already challenging time for me and my partner. I advocate strongly for his right to receive the complete care required for his medication. I hope you can find a swift resolution.
