The receptionist is very incompetent. She told me to go to the pharmacy instead of seeing the Doctor or nurses. Even though I explained to her that only the doctors can give me the specific medication I need for my allergy, and they did so last summer. My eyes are swollen, you can visibly notice! She Would not give me an appointment, so now I must go to the hospital. Receptionists should not be trying to diagnose patients. Dangerously unhelpful and this practice should not be allowed to go on . I will be changing my Doctors this week. I definitely don't recommend Mount pleasant surgery!

I truly feel looked after, this is the best surgery for me. I was at Healds Road and now I know they didn’t care. The team at Mount Pleasant surgery are really looking after me. Want to mention Tasneem who is lovely and really helped me, Dr Khan who was fantastic in my appointment and Liz the nurse who really supported and helped with my diabetes. Thank you all I’m grateful and feel much happier

Apparently a contagious infection you’ve had for 5 weeks is not an emergency as you saw an out of hours GP the night before - receptionist staff are the worst and tell you ‘it’s just how it is nowadays’ when you’re in the phone line queue. If you need to cancel an appointment and you’re stuck in a queue so are unable to cancel, they will question why you didn’t make the appointment. Try answering?

I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding a couple of incidents I experienced recently involving the Mount Pleasant Medical Centre.

Firstly, I would like to bring to your attention the recurring issue of patients parking their vehicles in front of our driveway, which is causing severe inconvenience and blocking access to our property. This has become an ongoing problem, impacting our daily routines and causing unnecessary stress. I kindly request that you address this matter promptly to ensure a smoother and more considerate parking experience for all.

Furthermore, I would like to address a concerning encounter with a receptionist at your medical centre. While attempting to discuss the parking issue, I was met with extremely unprofessional behaviour from a receptionist who declined to provide her name. Despite my efforts to engage in a civil conversation, she continuously repeated that she did not need to share her name and used an abrasive tone throughout our interaction. This level of unprofessionalism left a negative impression and added to my growing concerns about the overall atmosphere at the medical centre.

As someone who is not a patient of your practice, I was taken aback by the lack of respect exhibited by both staff and patients alike. It is disheartening to witness such behaviour, especially when seeking a resolution to a genuine concern.

I believe that maintaining a respectful and courteous environment is essential for any medical facility, as it contributes to the overall well-being of both patients and the surrounding community. I kindly urge you to take immediate steps to address these matters and ensure that the standards of professionalism and respect are upheld at Mount Pleasant Medical Centre.

UPDATE:
Updating my review due to changes recently, its still a bit hard to get an appointment, you have to ring at 8AM to get an appointment, none are available on systm online. The receptionists have gotten a lot better, the wait times in the que have dramatically decreased and they try triage your issues beforehand. Telephone appointments seem easier to get than a face to face still so depending on your issue you may still struggle.
My issues regarding getting my inhalers was resolved, this just seemed to be an issue with the 1 doctor. I have finally recieved some diagnosis on the issues causing me back pain, this is through no fault of the surgery as the tests needed weeks / months between them.
They give a good duty of care in regards to some of my prescriptions needing a check up before the next batch will be prescribed which is good to know that they arent just dishing them out and ensure you are still using them correctly and dont have a problem etc.
Overall seems to be getting a lot better considering the changes they have made internally

Old Review:
Absolutely useless. Countless times I have rang and sat in a call que of 3 for over half an hour. Recently the call que is 1 and is answered within a few minutes but you are just told "we dont have any appointments go to the walk in centre" I have had back pain for months due to not being able to get an appointment and when the pain got that bad that I thought it was related to something that could be fairly serious I was dismissed by the receptionist and just spoken over with the phone number for a physio. After calling 111 I was then referred back to them and was told I would need an apointment. I then called back and they did not want to give me an appointment and wanted me to go to the walk in centre instead. I was then offered an appointment next day. I then go in the next day to see countless people with small coughs etc who can magically get apointments without issues. I then get dismissed by the doctor who doesnt want to hear any of the issues I have and just wants to prescribe painkillers, who then tells me that he isnt going to prescribe my inhalers as "I shouldnt be having them that often" Even though I have been for the past 15 + Years, complete lack of care. Did not ask how my mental health had been due to my back issues, did not ask how it was affecting my life as a 26 year old that can barely walk 50 yards, instead just prescribes a large pack of opiode painkillers, good job my mental health isnt on the brink. Had to push just to get blood tests which I then needed to book another appointment two weeks away, So I best hope that I dont have a serious underlying problem.

Called later the same day to ask to the practice manager to first be told they werent there, then told they were infact there but were too busy and was then told I would recieve a call back later in the day. Never recieved a call back from the practice manager.

It astounds me that all the times I call I am told that my symptoms arent important enough to warrant an actual appointment with a doctor but every time I go there are people with minor ailments that could be resolved by going to a pharmacy. Why arent these people interrogated by the receptionists as I am? Will be putting a complaint in to NHS England due to the clear negligence from this doctors surgery. .

Took my 9 year old for an after hours appointment. The receptionist was extremely helpful, polite and efficient. The doctor was excellent and gave my daughter a thorough checkup. I was very pleased with the service. Keep up the good work. Hats off to all of you for doing all of this under so much pressure.

I wrote a review about Mount Pleasant medical centre a while ago and to be honest, it wasn't nice. But it was the truth.

However, I must say during recent times as difficult as they have been with the pressures on the NHS etc. I have noticed a huge change in various factors from the reception team.

Still things to work on but a move in the right direction! Shahid doing a great job there.

Keep it up
