Amazing. The sort of care that you thought was long gone from NHS general practice, is still alive and kicking at Longroyde Surgery. And thankfully, so is my family.

After 14 years at a different surgery, we were at our wits end. My family member was getting sicker, but the old surgery was disinterested to say the least. We are not people who worry needlessly about health. If we take time off work, and take up a doctor’s time, we do it because we genuinely need help. We tried twice to get that help at Rydings Hall and were fobbed off.

Coming to Longroyde, we received an appointment promptly, and were initially seen by a superb nurse practitioner (Tindall) who prepared notes for the doctor as well as offering her own expertise. We were seen by a doctor (Preston) who had read these notes already. She was thoughtful, interested and professionally curious enough to order more tests.

We were called back in to see another doctor (Madiha), who explained the test results throughly, along with their relevance. Dr Madiha had also gone back through *previous* years of results and found repeated abnormal results that had been either missed or ignored at the old surgery. For at least five years, those results had been received but ignored. That’s in spite of two appointments, getting increasingly concerned, regarding symptoms that could have been explained by the abnormality.

My family member has been through a lot over the last 4-5 years. Gradually deteriorating to the point of needing emergency care. We are lucky to still have them. We may now have an answer, thanks to the team at Longroyde.

Finally, I needed quite fast admin help today due to supply issues at the pharmacy. Previous experiences at the old surgery have left me on edge, never knowing if I’ll receive the medication I need to operate on a daily basis. I’m so used to feeling awful about needing help for this sort of supply issue, feeling like a nuisance, that when I received what I needed within just a few hours, along with a call from the compassionate lady on reception to reassure me it had been done, I was just so relieved and happy.

The whole team at Longroyde Surgery are amazing. I’m so glad we changed surgeries, and found this excellent, caring, well-run, communicative team. They are doing general practice in the best possible way, under such difficult conditions.

Brilliant surgery. We always get appointments when needed, all staff are really friendly and helpful. I have had to order medication at the last minute on two occasions and have always got what I needed, when I needed it.
