Many thanks to the Endoscopy Suite team for my procedure today. From the Reception staff to the Doctor and procedure staff, to the Recovery and Discharge nurse, all were very pleasant, caring and helpful, given that I was very anxious, having had the same procedure elsewhere a number of years ago, which left me a complete nervous wreck. Thank you Doctor Seth and all your staff for your care to me.

Pleasant experience at Kinsley Health Centre this morning, felt quite ill and apprehensive, saw Dr Adjenji felt listened to and comfortable. Also Sharon the receptionist went the full mile to sort out my prescription. Thanks Ladies. Service second to non.

We received no letter, a follow up call we were told they would send a text, which they did, and all it told us was date and time of appointment with a post code.

Arrived on the day, 50 minutes before appointment time, tried to speak to reception and got told to book in on the screen on the wall.

We waited until 20 minutes past our appointment time and follow instructions to speak to reception if we aren't seen.

Reception then decided to tell us we were not in the correct place, but needed to be in a separate building! Why didn't the book in screen inform us we needed to be in a different building like all other NHS book in screens do? Why couldn't we speak to reception first, instead of being grunted at to use the book in screen?

£80 in taxis there and back, and as a supporting husband as was told I wasn't allowed to be with my wife, I'll just wait outside then! Wouldn't a letter have given all this advice? Why not an email giving all the information? A text is simply not good enough, and neither is a reception that autonomously points to a book in screen.

Yes we are greatful for the appointment, but having to travel so far for a terrible service is a kick while you are already down.

When I saw the poor reviews I was somewhat concerned.
However, looking deeper, it seems these are for the general practice, not the attached endoscopy unit.
My impressions of the endoscopy unit are overwhelming positive. Everything is just what you would hope for. The staff from reception to consultant are professional, caring, understanding.
The procedure was clearly explained in a non-condescending manner; I was encouraged to ask questions which were considered important by them.
I never felt rushed, I was treated as a person throughout.
Normally I only review products, but I felt so strongly that other patients should know what a wonderful team awaits them.

Don't normally do reviews, had read some and was more worried about my appointment. I arrived on time, straight from car into reception where I was met and immediately put at ease, and given clear info and support, in depth questions which again gave me comfort. The staff was sympathetic and reassurance from friendly helpful nursing staff, same from my doctor, agreed test was super not nice but was eased by professional team and information was given and I left feeling helped and reassured. BIG THANKS TO ALL THERE

I have been at great pains to attend and eventually write this review, but today cinched it for me; it had to be done.

I made my appointment 3 weeks ago - after avoiding the process due to Anxiety and stress caused by new people. I decided to go with one of the reputable doctors, thinking that they might be the best people to go with, I was wrong.

I had an emergency appointment for a swelling on my arm about a week before, was diagnosed with a horse-fly bite, and given medicinal manukah honey - cleared up in days. The doctor who did this has unfortunately left, the surgery is poorer for her absence.

Back to today, I stayed up rather late as I was nervous, my partner came with me and I rehearsed what I was going to say before I got there, to ensure that I missed nothing.

I arrived 10 minutes early, was told there were 2 appointments before mine, sat and waited. 25 minutes after my time, the doctor came into the room, he shouted my name and in I went.

I began to explain my symptoms, before I could even finish, he had me on the bed and raising my legs - I went in for unlocalised chronic pain.

Within seconds, he was done and we were back in the chairs. He sternly looked at me and said "It could be that you need an operation, but I don't think so. It seems more like physio will help" I shrugged, and he continued "We could send you for a scan, but we only send people for scans for operations (this is categorically untrue)" I shrugged again.
I felt helpless.

He then typed everything up, and tried to shoo me out of the door. I asked for a new fit note, and a prescription for my SSRI tablets, this was filled, and sent to the WRONG pharmacy.
Further to this, he advised I "may have Fibromyalgia" but wasn't willing to actually diagnose this, even in the interim, and to treat it.

Now I am having to travel 8 miles, in chronic pain, for tablets that may not work. Also, I have been referred for physio, which I might not need, and this will take "4-6 weeks"

And lastly, I was then advised BY TEXT that my blood test - which could answer the questions we have - had been cancelled, due to "unforeseen circumstances", I tried to make another, and can't get another for over 16 weeks.

This surgery is basically what happens when the NHS is stretched, under-funded and semi-privatised.

Absolute shambles of a service with VERY few redeeming employees working there, also the receptionists seem to think they are GPs, they are indeed not.

I would recommend avoiding this place if you can, or if you can find a GP you like and is good, hold on to dear life for them if you can.

Utterly disgusted and disappointed in this treatment.

This surgery, including Doctors and all staff, are doing their very best under the national strain that all health providers are experiencing. The 8am contact for an appointment is not limited to this practice, but it is implemented nationally by government health advisors - it is as a result of political mismanagement and people should vent their anger and frustration at the ballot box.
