This is a shocking service. Communication is by text and there is a dire lack of it. I have now been waiting 3 weeks to talk to a doctor about my results. There are no times to when a doctor may call - it just happens. Thoroughly tired of an NHS service that no longer works. I wil be writing to my local MP.

Ellie, is absolutely lovely. Such a brilliant staff member, she is very caring and polite and understanding. I struggled heavily with mental illness in to which she was always supportive.
Helps with same day appointments if she can. Thankyou for bringing me out of dark times by simply being lovely.
The wound care team are brilliant too
Only thing is the capacity! Very hard to speak to someone who's a doc.

All GP surgeries are under pressure these days, but Gale Farm surgery handles it well. Their online service allows you to explain in detail what you need, after which the triage system responds in good time.
When I have had anything urgent, they have offered me an appointment very quickly. Other times, I have had to wait, but only for things that aren't urgent. Im happy to wait if it means that urgent problems are seen quickly for everyone.
This week, I was very late ordering my regular prescriptions online. I attached a note saying I needed them in 3 days or I would run out (it usually takes a week or so). True to form, my prescription was sent to the pharmacy the next day for me to collect. I feel heard and responded to.
The surgery also offered me a phone appointment with a cardiac consultant to ensure my medication was up to date. This is an example of proactive preventative care which I really appreciate.

Recently I asked if I could have a bone density scan. I waited a couple of weeks for a phone call, but the answer was yes.

The NHS is creaking at the seams, we all know that. What I want is a well organized professional GP service that is appropriately responsive to my needs, despite the circumstances nationally. Gale Farm, as part of the Haxby Group provides a service I can trust, and feel is meeting my health needs very well. Thanks to all the staff there.

I’ve been very critical of this surgery in the past, particularly with regard to the appointment system and lengthy delays. Whilst these problems remain (though less than before), the doctor I have just seen was brilliant. Attentive and thorough. I do wonder about the taking-on of new patients though, when the waiting list for old patients seems to be 8 weeks at this point.

Can't get in touch with the surgery, go into reception who tell you to go online and the online service is never open no matter what time of day I try!
Always end up seeing a different doctor and having to start from the beginning of treatment over and over again... Having to re-explain myself due to lack of note taking. Multiple blood tests where they didn't test for what the doctor said. Always having to fight for my prescriptions which are repeat prescriptions but can't get them!

You spend time filling in the online form (while you are in pain), just to get text message back telling you you'd have to wait for up to eight weeks to see a GP. Usually you end up waiting for that duration of time, hoping the pain won't make you insane.
As another person commented, they are currently taking on new patients...I suspect they prioritise easy patients for quick turn around while more serious ones have to wait.

Disrespectful staff. Had to sue one GP for negligence. Won’t proper assess my grandmother for COPD using the correct instrument and guessing what stage she’s at. Told her she’s not allowed to have prescriptions done over the phone anymore as she isn’t classed as vulnerable and is able to get out yet she cannot walk further than 100 yards unaided and told she’s stage 4 COPD but still expected to get to the surgery to pick up prescriptions. Absolute trash staff.

Writing this review on behalf of my 77 year old dad who went to see his GP here with a lump on his nose only to be told it was just a fatty lump and nothing to worry about.
I made him go to my GP where I live in Australia. Sure enough it was cancer. My dad has just had to have his nose reconstructed all because his own gp here was so negligent. Disgusting service from this practice.
