I have been with this Doctors surgery for around 6 years, I have found everyone including reception really really supportive and efficient. I am sad to be leaving as we are now out of catchment. Can’t praise Dr Rich and all the other staff members enough. I have always been able to get a face to face appointment when needed for myself or my son, have been signposted to other services when needed and have always been treated with dignity and respect.

I’ve been with Finchampstead surgery for 6 years and I have to say they’re brilliant… At 51 years old I’ve had a few surgery experiences and Finchampstead is head and shoulders above all others. The surgery itself is efficient, organised and easy to deal with. And Dr Duncan in particular stands out. Not only is she a great GP she is also kind, easy to talk to, listens, and does exactly what she says she will do…. Immediately..

Been with this surgery since I was under 10 and now in my early 20s. Always brilliant care and I get I get to have face to face appointments with the same doctor (Dr Dorothy Pradeep) who has been excellent and caring. Also grateful for Dr James Rich who has been lots of help recently with my recent health issues and emergency appointments.

Firstly this is not a review of the doctors and nurses, they are great once you have been seen too.

However!

The receptionists here (with the exception of one who is lovely) have to be by far the rudest most unhelpful and confrontational people I have ever come across in my life.

God forbid I had an elderly relative or someone genuinely in need of some sympathy or compassion because you won’t get it from these lot.

Genuinely appalled, it’s as though they aren’t expecting people to call in and be unwell and want a doctors appointment? Anything to defer or almost patronise you at every point, with cutting and dismissive questions and answers.

Is anything ever too much for these people? Yes, everything and anything seems to be.

I’ve had better service at a Wetherspoons than here.

It’s a shame I’ve been to this doctors surgery for my whole life, but I genuinely feel like the receptionists not only hate their jobs and evidently their lives but I actually feel like they hate me and anyone who need their help!

The surgery has failed me for years. My ADHD wasn't diagnosed after lots of problems relating to it. CBTs and deep breaths don't work that well for ADHD. God help you if you have a mental illness or developmental problem and you're with this lot.

I had to get myself diagnosed privately. Then the surgery went back on their word to offer me shared care. I don't blame Dr Mellows, he was a good doctor.

I can't get into another surgery as I'm out of catchment or they won't accept shared care.

I have no Doctor anymore.

We have used the Finchampstead Surgery for 12 years for simple as well as complex health issues and cannot fault the service. At every stage from receptionist to appointments with the doctors and nurses, we have been helped promptly, efficiently and compassionately. With the NHS under such pressure, we consider ourselves very fortunate to have such good care

Unfortunately this surgery has been failing for years and falling apart but no one really cares as people live ans people die.

The worst thing one can do is to be rude and hurting. Firstly they have gone completely remote as they are still living in Covid Era by not giving any face appointment and only offering call back. You will be lucky to get face to face appointment or may be ot is pick and choose ?.

They never tell you when they will call as they give you bracket for the whole day and if you miss the call for any reason then you are back in queue for days/weeks.

It is unfortunately to see doctor's and surgeries are becoming slaughtering centers and act as a butcher. And receptionist feels as if they are superior to everyone and can say whatever they like even though if it is senseless.

Thanka to Cathy Mcdonald for ruining my weekend, i was driving and missed the call and she said I have to answer the call even though I am driving (indirectly) else i should not opt in for a call (which obviously was not my choice and was forced)

RIP Finchampstead surgery

Unable to get through to book appointment, closed all day due to "staff training". Clearly patients are not important...
