Really poor overall experience. On a positive, if you ever get to meet anyone face to face, there are some lovely staff who work there.

The surgery go out of their way to prevent you from speaking to anyone in real life, or from making an appointment. They try and force you to you send any communications through a non-NHS downloadable online app called Patchs, which seems to be available to use during weekday mornings only.

I had a situation where we had to write to them requesting some medical info - no response received. I had to call several times. All they could tell me, after some persuasion, was that the letter had been received, but not responded to yet. I said yes, you told me that a month ago back on 20th November and you promised to put it in front of the GP. One month later, not actioned and they couldn't help and I had to use their online messaging service again.

Really really poor and disappointing. Do not register unless you have no other choice

This used to be a good surgery, what’s happened?
Please get your act together, the service is dreadful. In the last two months I’ve had appointments cancelled, been sent to the wrong surgery, waited six weeks to get basic information. There appear to be no services at Oakwood. What’s going on ?
I think they are trying to run it into the ground to close it, because nobody could earnestly run a GP surgery in this manner, they probably want to sell the building, like asset stripping.
It’s not the staff, the nurses or the GP’s when you eventually get to them… it’s the systems and processes!!
If you have elderly parents I would recommend moving them asap.

Update
Just to let you know I spent two days ringing to get an appointment with horrible symptoms.. absolutely no joy. Moved my records to Chandos, who processed them ( and all the ones in front of me at lightening speed, because I was ill). I then saw aGP within 8 hours (24 hours in tortal) of my records being processed. Tests were organised immediately.GP said I had severe symptoms and has referred me for a scan. Thank you Chandos, Oakwood just left me to rot.

It’s so sad to see what has happened to this surgery. I always knew I was lucky to be able to call and see the same doctor every time but I didn’t fully appreciate what a wonderful surgery it was overall. Since the merger I have never seen the same doctor twice and I can’t even book ahead, you have to call on the morning or use patches which basically means it is impossible to get an appointment. I now understand why Doctor Watson left as he would have hated not being able to give the personalised service he wanted to give.

My elderly mother gave written permission for me to help with her medical care. She first moved to this practice because of problems with the one she'd been registered with for 57 years. It was lovely when she first joined. Able to get a face to face appointment by phone etc. It all changed for the worse since it was taken over by Diamond medical group. It's impossible to get an appointment. The gps don't seem to know what they're doing and I'm actually worried for my elderly mother. It's absolutely disgraceful

Promised urgent callback yesterday .. it didn't happen. Heading for nearest walkin centre today or A&E if necessary. Not good enough treatment of 74 year old.

I've been at this GP since I was a child and never had a problem, since the practice merged with Diamond group I've never been able to get an appointment! I've just tried ringing at bang on 8am, and the call queue was full and I got cut off. They recommend patches, yet for the past 5 weeks it's just said they are at capacity and won't accept any new requests via patches!? It's becoming a joke. How am I supposed to speak to a GP

Agree with all the other reviews here since the merger that the quality of care has been going down. The online booking system doesn't work properly meaning you have to call in to arrange appointments but no one ever picks up. I've tried calling at 8:00 and also in the middle of the day, it's just constant queuing and when you're the next caller you're left waiting on the dialing tone. Unfortunately I will be moving GP practice after over 30 years as I'm just not getting seen anymore.

Used to be an excellent surgery but since Diamond Medical Group has taken over its impossible to communicate with them. Cannot get appointments or responses to basic questions.
