I never write negative reviews, but this experience deserves one. My mother, who is undergoing cancer treatment, and I had booked a special spa day together.

She has very limited days where she feels well enough to enjoy something like this. I flew in from the U.S. to spend time with her, and this spa day was meant to be a moment of peace and bonding before her next round of chemotherapy.

On the morning of our appointment, we were told we couldn’t have our treatments at the same time due to a staff emergency. While I absolutely understand that emergencies happen, the way it was handled was unacceptable.

The spa manager showed a complete lack of empathy and professionalism when informing us. There was no real apology or attempt to understand our situation until I raised concerns about her tone and attitude. Only then was a complimentary lunch offered — which felt like an afterthought rather than a sincere gesture of goodwill.

We ended up canceling, and I lost money on childcare I had arranged. What should have been a meaningful day turned into a very upsetting one.

We will not be returning, and I would not recommend this spa to anyone — especially those hoping for a supportive, accommodating environment. Very disappointing.

A nice experience, although there were some things that could have made it much better. The staff at the Spa reception desk were friendly and welcoming, and gave us our slip for lunch (this is very important to keep and take with you!). The spa area looked beautiful when we arrived early. Once we got into the changing rooms, it was chaos as there were no where to get changed. There’s 2 changing cubicles and 2x large pouffes in the middle. For the number of guests, there’s literally no room. We had to change on the floor in front of the lockers.
As we were early, we managed to get a sun lounger. There’s 3 different pools, a jacuzzi, 2x saunas, steam room and cold room. The outdoor jacuzzi wasn’t working, so acted like a warm pool.
Lunch was 2 course included in our overnight package, but the drinks were very expensive: 2x Peroni, glass of Prosecco, and Elderflower tonic was £26.40!!! The food was nice.
Once we’d tried out the facilities, we felt ready to leave. It didn’t feel as relaxed as other spa purely the sheer number of people around.
The Champneys shop was nice and they had a Happy hour between 2-3pm where items were discounted 20%.

We liked the coffee shop and chilled out in front of the fire!!

Overall great experience.
Spa facilities are good, staff generally friendly. My massage was lovely and therapist was very attentive. Changing rooms are small and do feel a bit cramped, with lack of places to sit/hang items. However, it was quiet when I was there and so wasn’t much of an issue.
Charcuterie board included with the twilight experience was a nice touch.
I would visit again.

I’m already looking forward to my next spa break.
The staff were so welcoming and attentive.
The facilities are great.

Even though I did get a facial and 2 massages they were not what I actually wanted but I’m grateful for the products that therapists prescribed.
My skincare routine desperately needed an overhaul which was long overdue.

Make sure that you book your treatments well in advance.

The spa experience is excellent. I’ve been quite a few time. From welcome to cleanness everything is great.
There are variety of indoor pools and hot tubs to enjoy. Two saunas and a steam room which I really like. The cold room didn’t work this time I was there nor the ice bucket which was a shame.
There are plenty of loungers inside and outside.
Cafe is really nice specially with the fire in the middle.

The only big disappointment was the restaurant. We had to ask for the menus to be bright to us! We had to wait for an hour for the food to arrive. They never asked us how we want the steak and it was actually very rare. My chicken salad didn’t have the chicken on the top!!
We were sat in the last table close to the kitchen and the waitress behind us was sorting the cutlet out very very noisy. Despite me reminding her she didn’t stop so we had to ask to be seated at a different table. So next time we will grab a bite in the cafe instead.

I attended a spa day with my sister back in the summer last year. Whilst we were there they had advertised a return offer for £75. Upon leaving we decided to rebook as we had a nice day and the deal was really reasonable.
For the past almost three months I have been trying to contact their customer services to use this voucher.
Firstly there is no contact number to get a hold of anyone and it has taken a month for someone to come back to me by email and the response was extremely blunt and unhelpful. Stating they cannot find my booking on the system (which they wouldn't as it was a voucher purchased on the day at the desk) and that they will need my sister who made the original booking to contact them. Which she has, and still no response. I'm struggling to understand why they would need her to contact as it was it was booked directly via reception and not through any email.

After almost three months of trying to sort this out and utilise my return offer I feel I have no choice but to leave a review about this service!! Shame as the actual spa is nice.

Please sort out your customer services and if you are going to offer return offers, create a better system for people to actually use them!!

Beautiful grounds that I discovered - would be nice if some one highlighted the amenities.

Food at lunch was strange - advertised as 3 courses when booking but only got 2- drinks and dessert extra.

Staff could be more friendly - when we arrived no one told us about breakfast. Lady in coffee shop ignored us and was generally miserable at all times of the day. In the treatment centre the lady at reception was unhelpful after we approached her, felt like she was discouraging us from booking any treatments.

This was our first time visiting, and we had a wonderful time at this beautiful spa! We opted for the spa day and had the most amazing time and will return. The photos don't do justice how tranquil the spa was. Staff were friendly and facilities were immaculate! Only downside was the dining experience, as despite it being advertised that lunch was included you had to pay £5.50 for sides (which were quite crucial to you feeling like you had a full meal), and a few of the dishes you had to pay extra for too. Overall a wonderful day and we had a great time, would definitely recommend.
