92 year old mum admitted to resuscitation on Sunday evening. Ambulance staff wonderful compassionate and caring. Staff in resuscitation efficient and professional. Caring for mum and me both. Onto assessment bay and then GEM 11 and then Spencer Ward. Staff under extreme pressure, but my goodness what a magnificent team they are in our hour of need. I cannot fault the care , skill and compassion in all departments. Heartfelt thanks to you all. How fortunate we are to have such dedicated people at NGH.

Awful as a carer i’ve experienced how bad northampton general hospital parking is for people with disabilities (blue badges).
The car park has been designed to inconvenience visitors and blue badges holders at the hospital.
a blue badge is designed to leave on display on your car dashboard to prevent a disabled person to park and then look for a payment meter.
As from arrival at the hospital there is no parking at accident and emergency you have to park on the other side of the hospital also before leaving the car park you must find a payment meter to show your blue badge details and enter your vehicle registration then try to return to your vehicle and exit the car park with in a time limit and i can esure you it a task especially with a wheelchair and lack of paths and steep hills lifts and lack of parking spaces as a carer im astonished my last 2 visits to the hospital i have paid over £100 parking fines and obviously if i appealed as the letter states i would loose and pay nearly double in fines.
my wife even cancelled a appointment due to anxiety over another fine

I have just spent 15 hours in A and E, in various areas. You can clearly see that the department is under immense pressure but each and every member of staff treated me with dignity and kindness, and got me home as soon as they could. These people are literal hero’s, and should be paid more!!!

Although my toddlers appointment did not go to plan(kids will be kids) the staff at the paediatric hub were absolutely amazing with him, especially Stuart, he was absolutely fantastic with both us parents and my son, he really did go that extra mile to make the situation less stressful for us, especially when my toddler turned into a druken Hulk as a result of sedation. Great member of staff!!!

Just been discharged from Northampton General hospital, after a partial Knee replacement .
Mr Campion preformed the operation, accompanied by a Mr Mathew's.
I was staying on Compton ward, who looked after me superbly, the staff were fantastic, and nothing was too much trouble, such a lovely friendly place, seriously.
The staff in the anesthesia, operating department were so great, and put a very nervous patient at complete ease.
I know that none of us want to spend time in hospital, but if you have too, then this place is in my opinion a good place to be.

Late yesterday I had to take my husband to NHG A&E the system crashed just as we arrived so the staff had to revert to paper. The department was absolutely bursting at the seams. The staff remained professional and friendly no matter what was thrown at them. How they do it I don’t know because some people were down right rude. Also a lot of the people who were with patients were all helping those patients who were on their own getting drinks, sharing sandwiches and talking to them. I would say 98% of the people there were just grateful we have our wonderful NHS. I sat there and thought there are still some very nice people in the world and a high percentage work at NHG. So thank you one and all for your help and support last night.

Well that was unbelievable. I had to go for a CT scan I sat waiting for almost 50 minutes. Sat in the Day case treatment unit. 5 Staff in the Reception doing nothing except talking and having a laugh. And 6 Nursing staff in the treatment room drinking tea and again having a good old chat not a single Patient in sight for the whole time I was there 1 hour and 9 minutes. And then we ask why is the NHS on its arse. Unbelievable!!!!

Go up
