I rang at 10am hoping to get an appointment for the following week. When I said my symptoms the lady asked me if I wouldn't mind holding while she spoke with a doctor. She came back within a minute or to and asked me to attend the surgery that day in the afternoon. I went and was examined and given antibiotics. Good service when it was obviously needed.

A few weeks ago while staying with my sister in law my husband damaged his ankle, it wasn't broken just very badly bruised with large blood blisters, we attended the surgery to ask if a Doctor could take a look and if necessary prescribe antibiotics as my husband had sepsis twice while undergoing chemotherapy but luckily is cancer free now hence our holiday, we are UK citizens but now reside in Australia. The receptionist we saw wouldn't let us see anyone, said go To A&E. I tried to explain that Australia and the UK have a reciprocal agreement and treat each other's citizens, she said she had no knowledge of this and again said to go to A&E. If surgeries have people on reception they should at least make sure they have all this sort of knowledge, don't you agree.

Awful appointment booking system, same day appointments only by phone are an absolute nightmare. People need to be able to book in advance on line as clearly they don’t have enough staff to cope by phone. When you finally get in it’s ok but getting appointment is awful especially when you don’t feel well.

a phone call ɓack or for an appointment. to see a doctor. The doctor's nurses and reception staff have always been very polite and sort out any health issues I may have.
The surgery is kept clean and tidy
Although the telephone lines can be busy you just need to be patience or ring back later, however. I still give this surgery a good rating Linda

How does your line get full at 8am on the dot. This surgery is just a joke and I started calling since yesterday then 111 is asking me to call back or to even call tomorrow. Then you wonder why there is pressure on A and E. Y’all are just a joke.

The new phone system as of 2024 is diabolical and quite frightening in regards to how difficult it is to get thru to a receptionist at the very, very least.

It is incredibly difficult/rare to build any type consistent development with one senior doctor… passed around various different practitioners who can be brought in as cover and with a majority of issues presented during appointments being disregarded.

Ultimately, if the phone system was more effective, I am sure that would be the best start in at least ensuring a level of fairness - as first come first serve seems to be ineffective at providing all persons needs are fundamentally acknowledged at the bare minimum.

For example - I have spent between 20-45 minutes twice per day for over 8 consecutive days to simply get thru to reception to which no success. Furthermore, this morning - all appointments had been taken within 15 minutes.

To elaborate - there have been countless times during a period of time on hold - that the phone line has gone dead resulting in the need to start from square one.

The new appointment booking system is in my experience - an impossible to prevail failure which hasn’t been refined or retuned in order to suitably support the amount of patients this surgery has signed on and who are seeking your help.

For all the bad reviews out there I have to add my experience on 15/08/24 which was wholly positive. Rang on 13th and was able to send an image of my issue to the practitioner and booked an appointment to come in on the 15th. Updated my contact details with the polite team on reception and was seen by a very nice doctor in a timely manner.

Unable to book an appointment with a GP. I have been calling every day at 8 AM and 2 PM since last Wednesday. It always says they have reached their capacity and they can't pick up the call. I will change surgeries as soon as possible.
