3rd World Dr's surgery. If you was trying to run a system not to help people this would be the perfect example in 10 years it's got worse from an already low starting point.
Trying to get an appointment is virtually impossible.
I move soon cannot wait to change surgeries

As part of the Beacon health group it has become increasingly difficult to get an on the day appointment due to the existing booking system. You cannot go to the reception to try and book it has to be done over the phone which is impossible due to the amount of patients trying to phone in. I've been trying for the last 3 days at 8 in the morning and all appointments have gone, other surgeries like Whitley house, Baddow village surgery do take appointments on the day even via the receptionist. This group of surgeries has become to large and has therefore lost the personal touch with the local community. If I had the chance I would look at registering at another practice but were outside of their catchment area.

When calling and being number 13 in the queue - you get to number one to be told there’s no appts for over a week for your young primary school child.

I’ve paid for numerous private appointments instead at Springfield hospital.

Today funds are tighter and I cannot afford the £150 for a private consultation after my daughter had a fall yesterday.

I’m told no appointments.

Only when I pushed harder for help was I then offered a video appointment that “the surgery pay for” I was spoken to like absolute dirt and left upset after trying to get through twice and making 45minutes worth of calls!

There certainly is a “breed” that work in these places.

Registered here in 1998 when I moved to Chelmsford and was very satisfied until it was taken over by Beacon Health Group. It's now pretty bad. Patients are encouraged to book appointments online but the only ones available are for special clinics, nothing general for a Dr or Nurse. I've never met my current named Dr. who is based at Danbury; nor did I know the previous one who joined and left after a very short while. All the staff are friendly and do their best within the confines of NHS rules; there is no continuity of care and you have to keep explaining yourself to every different Dr that you see. The surgery gets 1* as I've managed to see Dr Oyewunmi (5*!) three times now!

I’ve been a patient at Mountbatten for 18 years now. As a family we have always had excellent medical care. Since they have been taken over by Danbury we still receive excellent health care................if you can get an appointment. Nobody answers the telephone. This morning I’ve queued outside for 20 minutes to get an appointment only to be told that it’s now emergency appointments only. The receptionist told me I have to telephone for an appointment now. I told her you can’t get through on the phone which she blatantly ignored. While sitting on the wall outside talking to other patients, it was said that people are leaving this gp and going to the one next door to Sainsburys. After today’s fiasco I will be joining them. Beacon Health Group, you are not running a charity, you are supposed to be running a service that most of us have paid into. You need to start treating people as customers not as nuisances. I’m out of here!

Extremely difficult to make an appointment, takes many attempts to even get through to the answer line and a 20 minute wait on the phone when you can, alternatively it's queuing outside the surgery at 7.30am before work for half an hour. Very few online appointments for a Dr or nurse practitioner, no on the day or next day appointments, only two days (if calling on a Thurs or Fri this means a three or four day wait) or two weeks. Never get to see the same Dr which is so counterproductive to achieving a streamlined continuous service of care to patients, have to explain from square one each time which wastes valuable time. Limited timeframe of 11am-1pm to discuss prescriptions and this has to be done over the phone to Danbury (if you can get through), they will not discuss these at Mountbatten. Most of the Doctors are OK when you get to see one but there is little choice. The receptionists are usually really nice and helpful it's just the lack of resources and system and they have to work within.
