If you get an appointment, you're lucky. Receptionists think of them selfs as doctors and will diagnose you while on the call. They refuse help even if they can. They deserve a golden star! Do your self a favourite and change the groups.

I had to come from Warrington to Morecombe to pick up my poorly grandson as his mum couldn’t take him as she had to be in work. We took the bus from west end of morecombe. When we arrived 10 mins before the appointment. The receptionist explained to me that the locum GP refused to see him. No reason nothing I then asked could he not see another dr. But she told me there was only the locum . I’m elderly and disabled and felt absolutely terrible that my grandson couldn’t see anyone. The receptionist called around another surgery to see if we could get him in. She also said that the practice manager would ring my daughter, which she didn’t. I’ve never her of a dr that won’t see children. I’m disgusted. No wonder they have low reviews.

A real struggle getting appointments and repeat medication. Sadly you can wait weeks for an appointment then you are contacted by a locum or student or they don't answer your requests at all.

Practice has really gone downhill. Been a patient there since Dr Evans and Dr Sykes were there, both (excellent doctors) are now long gone and it's hard to even get to see a doctor in person these days, let alone a specific doctor who's familiar with your conditions. If you ring up, you're on hold for half an hour, whereupon you have to explain your medical issues to the receptionist and if you're lucky, one of the nurses will phone you back at some point. Even if you ring up at 8am when it opens, the appointments are all gone by the time they get around to answering your call.

Can't get an appointment with own Doctor for typically four weeks ahead, even then usually only a telephone appointment. This creates a problem because they only phone once and if for any reason you miss the call, THAT'S IT, back to zero one. Start all over again.
I am 51 yes old and lived in various areas in the UK over the years, and can honestly say this is the worst service I have ever known. I am so disappointed with the service I may even contact David Morris again.

March 2019 update: significant improvement recently. Centralised phone answering is now as good as it should have been 9 months ago. But why have my family been allotted a new GP and we weren't informed? Still a way to go...

June 2018:Truly awful. Surely a merger would show some benefits for patients? Nope! No part of the service has improved.

What a shambles. As Morecambe now only has 1 'practice', changing doctor means going to Lancaster. I could walk there in the time it takes for the phone to be answered...

Absolutely rubbish! I have been waiting 2 days for a Dr who I've been allocated to, without being told I have and who i've never even heard of before. I have made 4 phone calls to the practice, seeking advice as my pacemaker has stopped working, and been told each time that an EMERGENCY MESSAGE has been sent to Dr J...... asking for advice regarding my problem. I have lost consciousness and stopped breathing and an ambulance was called. I have contacted the RLI who have told me my pacemaker cannot be checked unless my GP refers me urgently! All I get from the receptionists are "If you're that worried call 999, but we'll send another EMERGENCY MESSAGE to YOUR GP to contact you with advice, hmmmm, surgery now closed until Monday. This PRACTICE is just that, "practising" and maybe one day and many lives later they may improve. This is absolutely disgusting, along with a minimum of a 4 week wait to TRY to see a Dr, who 9 times out of 10 you just don't know, whilst they're telling everyone there is a shortage of Drs yet go into any of their waiting rooms in the afternoon and they all look as though they're ghost towns, with very few if any, patients waiting to see a GP.
