Bay Medical Group Heysham Primary Care Centre

Personally I have received nothing, but professional courtesy,friendliness and empathy, with the exception of one receptionist, which I felt it was a pity. However, it happens in every company , professional or otherwise. Myself, I am extremely grateful for the care I have received from all members of staff with whom I have been involved. Great teamwork !Bless you all ! wishing you a lifetime of love, happiness, laughter, and above all the good health to enjoy it all.

Edited Further to my previous review. I contacted bay medical for help as my mum passed away. My mental health was and is in a shocking way. They left me from Friday until I had a telephone call on Tuesday! What kind of mental health response is that?! No wonder there are so many ‘preventable’ suicides. People reach out for help and you leave them for 4 days. As for the telephone conversation and medication offered well, leaves a lot to be desired. Prescribed me 2mg tablets to help for a week. Didn’t even provide enough tablets and my prescription wasn’t even ready until Thursday! Absolute joke. You should be ashamed of yourselves! Very sad service provided to myself. I have been laughed at, discriminated and generally made to feel like a bother. An asthmatic should not have to beg for covid treatment. No organisation. Terrible communication. I don’t feel cared about or supported by bay medical at all. I have had 3 dealings with 3 outrageously arrogant male gps. This affected me so badly that I have now asked to be contacted/seen by female gps/practitioners only. As a qualified healthcare professional myself, I can say wholeheartedly that this is not how we treat people. Disgusting :( -0 stars!

Rang up for a blood test after a consultation with a doctor on a video call only to be told It would be over a month away for the appointment. Ridiculous behaviour as it takes all of 5 mins to take some bloods.

Never had a problem with any of the medical staff and qualified nurses, receptionists have mostly been extremely accomodating however following a recent health check by an unqualified 'nurse' I was appalled by her hand hygiene...or rather lack of! Wearing a pair of blue gloves she touched door handles, Blood pressure machine, tapped away on the computer then proceeded to take blood from me with out removing her gloves, washing her hands and putting on a fresh pair! She touched my skin to find a vein then proceeded to insert a needle into my arm! Didn't even wash her hands afterwards. I do not think unqualified personnel should be undertaking such procedures with out adequate infection control training!!

An absolute shambles of a surgery. My parents have the misfortune of using this surgery. The staff are so rude and unhelpful and now appointments are only granted by a committee. Some poor soul will die as a result of this surgery.

I was told at 8.15am that at GP would phone me this morning about my elderly mother's condition. I asked and was told I would receive a call from a GP this morning, it is now 3.25pm and still no contact. My mother is 96 and it breaks my heart that the elderly are being neglected. A very disappointing service. Yesterday I waited over 40 mins to speak to a receptionist and again this morning a similar time. Just know I have tried again to find a wait list of 13 people in a queue. This is an appalling service. Just hope there is never an emergency....

We have recently moved to the area and the Heysham surgery have been amazing. I see alot of negatives on this page, but no one leaves their positive experiences. Believe me, the surgery i have come from, down south, was absolutely atrocious. They even tried to kill me on more than 1 occassion, with prescribing a drug i am allergic too, misdiagnosis, and not sending my blood and urine sample off, which led to me getting sepsis of my 1 remaining kidney, being hospitalised for 5 days. So, this Bay group is a wonderful dream. ?
