We recently moved to the area and so far our experience has been great. We were a little apprehensive registering at the surgery given the reviews but after our previous surgery made an error in deregistering our newborn before his 6 week appointment, Capel have gone over and above. The receptionist advised us on registering and booked us an appointment before we completed the paperwork, also calling back twice the same day to update us. The appointment itself was with Dr Osborne who was fantastic.

A lovely friendly village practice where all the staff from receptionists, doctors/nurses and pharmacy team are friendly and welcoming. The doctors always take the time to listen and do their best to help. Recommended GP if you live in the area.

Asked for an open referral for ENT and the nurse didn't know what was that but assured me she would do one. Confirmed once again with the brunete short hair lady at the reception as well. Called after 2 weeks for an update as I haven't heard back and there was no trace of any referral.
I have asked a simple thing, was that so difficult to do? My little one is still in pain but obviously no one cares especially capel surgery. Shame on you!

I have been with this practice for 33 years. I have had good service from most of the GP's during this time and was always able to boast that we could see a doctor when needed in the face of others who might have to wait a week for an appt elsewhere.

However, things have changed for the worst since 2020. There are no online appts and if you don't have a webcam you can't register with e-consult either now. E-consult without logging in is a minefield of pages full of irrelevant questions, takes forever and skews your purpose anyway. It is no wonder that A&E are inundated with mundane ailments if we can't see a general practitioner with the ease we ought to. That said, the few staff I have been able to interact with have all been very pleasant and are likely not individually responsible for the less than ideal systems in place at the moment.

Disgraceful service. Lady ant the counter is beyond rude and made to wait over an hour just for a prescription. Avoid this place like the plague. Honestly the plague sounds nicer than this place.

This surgery is beyond a joke. At 8am your 24th in the queue. By the time you get through all appointments have gone. Rude staff and un helpful doctors. Worse place I’ve ever been registered at. Shame

Just been told you cannot pre book any appointments to see or speak to a doctor, you have to call up at 8am and wait and see if you can get a doctor to call you. Which is daft as the only reason I called was because a doctor called me about a blood test (not related) should have asked them about the other issue.

I feel this is just a referral centre. Not easy to get any medical support other than phone NHS help line. Even more difficult to get an appointment.
