My recent fractured ankle led me into a completely eye-opening experience. I'd experienced the hospital from the perspective of an accompanying visitor when my husband had been an in-patient, but nothing quite prepares you for your own experience.
Everybody - Paramedics, A and E staff, UTC staff, Radiographers, Physiotherapy, Chanctonbury Ward Staff, Doctor, Surgeon, Anaesthetist, Surgical team, Theatre staff, Outpatient staff, Porters, Volunteers who came to chat with me, and the lovely lady in Reception who grabbed a wheelchair for me whenever she saw me hobbling in with my walking frame - was pleasant, helpful, patient and professional.
And finally, a big thank you to the plaster room staff for their help, humour and advice, and especially Steve for adjusting my very painful cast (I was terrified that it was damaging my foot and I was almost at the point of hacking it off myself) at short notice, on a busy fracture clinic afternoon.
Everybody helped to make my experience more bearable - thank you so much.

Have been several times for babies being born and pediatric a and e. Maternity staff were all really excellent. Food actually quite tasty I thought.

A and E very busy but they do get to you and felt like they listened to our concerns.

Lots of building work going on at the moment, best bet for parking is opposite hospital NOT in hospital carpark.

I just want to say how amazingly efficient my experience was yesterday. I went to A&E at 11 am, after triage and x-rays I was diagnosed by professional, friendly, empthic staff and discharged at 12.30pm. This is the 3rd positive experience my family have had with this hospital in 4yrs of living in this area. Much better than Hertfordshire where we come from. We would just like to give full marks and say a huge thank you 😊

Turned up last night with my partner. There was a couple there and her husband was in so much pain heard her say that her husbands going to toilet and loosing a lot of blood. He was groaning walking around in pain. The lady went up to the desk a few times as she was seeing other patients going through to see the doctors. She even asked if he could have some more medication. The receptionist was so rude saying there’s nothing she can do but told her to just sit down and wait her turn.
Another patient came in with 2 police officers . They spoke to this lady behind the desk given details. Saying he’s took an overdose. He was in a bad way. She looked up and said abruptly I can’t help him if he keeps walking away. Then the police were so caring looking out for this young man. They asked the receptionist if there’s a quiet room they can use and sit with him. She said no he’s to wait in the waiting room with everyone else and wait his turn. It’s disgusting and so rude this lady receptionist talking to these patients. She did have short grey/ blonde hair and wore glasses hopefully someone might have a word to her

Was seen almost immediately. Well, I was asked on arrival for a urine sample, and the doctor was waiting for me when I came out. Very charming, professional doctor who treated me with respect and humour rather than talking down to me. He allowed me to work together with him to formulate a treatment plan for me. Very impressed.

I recently had a referral to Worthing Hospital. With a two week urgent appointments had to have a endoscopy and CT Scan both done within three days after seeing endoscopy consultant. Our NHS is brilliant and the staff in both departments were amazing. I was worried about having a camera put down my throat. I had spray and sedation can't remember anything. But thank you to all the staff who gave looked after me this week.

Staff have been rude to my partner on two occassions (a&e). No idea how to handle anyone that is nerodivergent and made her feel like she was doing something wrong. Both times she's left in tears. Not good enough. I understand it's a stressful environment but when you're taking it out on your patients then you're doing something wrong and missing the point entirely
