Telephoned surgery because I was having problems with my eyes. Itchy, running, sticking together during the night, and when I did manage to open them the tears were running down my face. Have already tried stuff from chemist but no relief. I was told by the receptionist to make an appointment with optician and go back to chemist. What qualifications does she have to tell me what to do, was hoping to see doctor or nurse but no I had an unqualified receptionist making decisions about my eyes. Absolutely shocking treatment. This surgery is getting worse and I didn’t think that was possible.

Had a telephone call with the pharmacist booked for 12.30, no call so rang the surgery to be told by the receptionist they were in my notes and going to ring. Now 13.30 still no telephone call. This surgery is pathetic in all aspects and with all the new houses being built god help us!!!!!!!

I organised an appointment last night for this morning. I then had a early morning text stating my appointment is cancelled and that I would need to call to discuss this... I called the practice to be advised by Jessica that the individual that was going to take my blood for the blood test was ill.. (not a problem it happens).. I was instructed to follow a link in a text and to go to the "Iron stone centre" or wherever I can get in.. As I did so there was no avaibility on the app for the "ironstone centre" and that there was availibity at the CDC medical practice.. So as I put that information into Google maps the directions took me to the general hospital. I showd my confirmation to the hospital staff and they said to go to floor C after eventually getting the information I needed the lady at the desk said you're at the ironstone centre in town. Which is frustrating because I was passed to pillow to post and the confirmation didn't state "The Iron stone centre".. I then arrived at the ironstone centre to be told that I needed and form and that she has this problem with the staff at Winterton medical practice all the time and that it's an ongoing issue with them (not making patients aware that they will need to physically get a form from the practice in order to give to the individual that knows what blood tests to do. I then called the practice to explain this (calls are recorded so I'd like an investigation to look into the calls so that the relevant complaints department can understand the complete incompetence of the functionalities of the practice and staff. I've had issues throughout the year with the practice but didn't think it was that much if an issue to complain but after today I felt it nessasairy. I was the asked to come and collect a document from the practice then to go back to the ironstone centre. I then proceeded to ask if the form could be emailed to me to give to the individual that was going to do the blood test and she said we would need the physical copy which resulted in myself having loss of earning for having to mess about when there were no clear instructions and generally a complete waste of time due to inadequate service!

Wouldn't recommend!

Overall an absolute shambolic and incompetant service provided by the practice and with looking at the reviews it's not the first time.

Can't believe I had a medication review by such an unempathetic and unprofessional person....had no interpersonal skills,, condescending and judgemental..... Definitely looking for a new GP surgery... Never been so insulted or been judged by a GP surgery in my entire life

I have never known such a badly organised doctor’s surgery with such poorly trained GPs. The ladies on reception are always lovely and that’s the only good thing I can say about the place.

I was very impressed with the speed and professionalism of the service. From registering with the practice and submitting the Klinik request- I was contacted in less than a day and had a telephone appointment later that morning. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Very impressed with the service as a whole- thank you.

What is the use of having a 24 booking service by phone, when you can not access it when out of hours. Between 1 and 2 pm. It just rings and rings and rings. No answer. The same at night time. Should be changed to say when we can be bothered to answer it. Or switch the machine on.
Secondly haveing to wait over 5 weeks for an appointment to see the doctor. This is unacceptable. While sitting in the surgery waiting for my partner, there was no one at the reception and the phone was not ringing. So I rang to be told I was number 6 in the queue. When a person came back she was just sitting there looking at a screen while my number went down to 1 after 11 mins. This person did not answer the phone once and gave advice to 1 person at the counter, and had a conversation with a fellow colleague while I was ringing. This practice is a joke.

Terrible, incompetent reception staff. Practice is about 10 years out of date. The woman who has worked there for years, with the annoying loud voice.
I had been with them for about 13 years - last November - had to live temporary at my Mums 25 miles away, I have a repeat prescription ., I left a voice mail on the Repeat Phone System, on the 28th December 2023
I went to Boots pharmacy in the area where I was living, to sign up to receive my medication, which they should automatically do from the pharmacy at Winterton.
The first time my medication was still at Winterton, fair enough, the communication may of over lapped, 2nd time, Boots said that they were nominated , so I should of received my prescription there - no prescription had been issued.
I rang Winterton to explain what was happening, the receptionist, first said, that they didn't nominate other pharmacies, when Boots was there in black and white on my physical prescription, then said, they had received the answer machine message, on the 28th Dec - but the pharmacy had told me they had nothing down , only from October., then she continued to say that they needed a "form" from Boots for them to release the prescription - Boots had no idea what she meant, by this time, I have had no medication for 3 weeks.- and have paid for 2 months worth Direct Debit.
So, I have now registered with the Drs where I am living - they sent me a text this morning, to say my prescription was ready, it took 4 hours from the text to me picking it up, it was that fast.
Winterton normally takes 5 days, when the pharmacy is literally in the same building.
The receptionist should be sacked.
