This is the new home of the former Willerby Surgery medical practice, familiar doctors and staff have migrated. But this place is brand new with technology taking a larger roll, check in is done on a on a touchscreen monitor. Not some new fangled gadget no as Hull Royal Infirmary has had this check in system for quite some time. But to some of the older clientele, a lot older, and possibly not tech savvy, it may be rather daunting.

But a receptionist is available near these screens whereas at one time everything was done through the receptionist. But you step into a bright airy building, the doors open for you automatically, and tap the screen for your appointment instructions. This is still done by a telephone call if you wish but in a nod to the direction of the future the NHS app can also be used for the task. Once your details are entered on the screen, male, female, date or birth that type of thing you are given directions to which floor and room number for a chosen, or allocated doctor.

For those infirm patients a lift is available as it's a 3 storey building, ground floor the nurses, not sure if there are any doctors on the ground floor. 1st floor the doctors, and I think that the top floor is for business meetings and administration, again though I am not sure. But again all is light and airy, oh and the ever present screens display medical advice, at the old surgery it was a tv screen. Then the medical advice is interrupted as your appointment is displayed, your name and doctors room number, modest improvements but not too scary for the none technical.

No doubt there will be glitches, it's all computer stuff anyway and we know that they can have off days as well, almost human you could say. So yes a big improvement on the old Willerby Surgery, even the doctors rooms are more spacious than before. But in the longer term I suppose that it has many of the problems often talked about, available staff etc. I am of the older generation but up to now the place hasn't given me any problems. There is even a box on the wall in the entrance for your repeat prescription, like the old surgery, but progress means that you can do those prescriptions through the NHS app as well. Yes I like the place, so farewell, and thank you to the old Main Street residence.

So far so good, this is my third practice in two years! Trust me after the experience with haltemprice surgery and them nearly costing me my life, being told to shush when wanting to see a cardiologist due to two years of chest pain and being sent home with gaviscon then a day later having a catastrophic heart attack and emergency surgery and being told another one would of killed me I have nothing but good to say about this practice! Dr Evans and her colleague were truly wonderful, I do struggle with making an appointment because I'm not good with tech but have always managed to get one in the end, the care and reassurance I've been given is nothing short of excellent! I just hope it continues

Nice new building with air conditioning, but following an unfortunate pattern of some other institutions by making check-in by machine!
When will they learn that a large portion of society still want the human touch!
Very difficult to get an appointment with a Doctor.

I cannot praise the Willand Willerby & Swanland Surgery Practice enough, from Doctors, Nurses and equally Reception staff, they are all a huge credit to their Profession. Since moving here nearly 2 years ago they have always been compassionate, informative, responsive and efficient. In my experience all staff are pleasant always.
Thank you Willand.

Just joined this surgery and rang up to book a new patient medication review as I was told I'd need to have one before they issue any prescriptions. Woman on the phone told me there was no appointments and that I needed to ring at 8am Why can they not just book an appointment for a day in the next few weeks, bizarre.

Only joined earlier this year. The reception staff are so rude and need serious telephone training when dealing with the public. Tone and manner is disgusting, they make you feel like you're an inconvenience for asking questions they have no kind or heart warming manner i dread to think how they treat the elderly. Im 7 months pregnant and thick skinned but sometimes they have got to me. Doctors and nursers are pleasant and do the job well.
