Me and my daughter had a very unpleasant experience with one of your receptionist this morning.
We have always felt proud and grateful of the service provided by the surgery and shown our appreciation. But recently receptionist staff (could be just one or two members) has really ruined this for us on multiple occasions with their awful attitude and service.
Please manage this issue as it really is a shame for the rest of the staff and doctors as well as the reputation of the surgery.
Happy to give further details of the incident over a call to the surgery manager!

Well where do I start, it seems that 1 of your receptionist that you call on the phone has a very horrible attitude to patients. When you go in tge Drs they are totally different, seriously the king of changing G P,s , not the service you should be given.

TL;DR: Friendly and helpful (and unfortunately, often uninformed) medical staff, disgusting service. 2+ weeks waiting list for anything.

I was a patient for over a year and was treated rudely and ignorantly very often. After reporting my symptoms and requesting help, they held me in a limbo of denied referrals for over a year. Nobody ever contacted me with good news, or any news, even including the results of blood and other tests. Their opening hours are disgusting, and unless you call between 8.30 and 9 am, the slots are all already gone, or the line is straight-out closed. As a night shift worker on 12-hour shifts, recovering after my shifts, they just straight out said they do not care. 1-2 hour phone queues are a norm here, so even if you do ring in the allocated hours, they may still deny you an appointment. It closed over the weekend, so no luck there either. Staff training every week or two, kicking days off the calendar; The staff never seemed to get anything from this training. Waiting lists for basic appointments are 2+ weeks long. This place gave me more stress than they possibly ever prevented. Stay away.

I moved to this surgery a couple of months ago and have been really impressed with it.

Firstly, they have face-to-face appointments - my previous surgery was 5 minute telephone appointments and send pictures!

The calling system is convenient as you're able to request a callback rather than holding, and I have always managed to get through - with my previous surgery, I would have to re-dial 50-100 times before I could even join the queue!

Receptionists are helpful, friendly and efficient.

I have seen 3 GPs and a nurse so far and all of them have been excellent. I have felt listened to and have been quickly booked in for follow up tests. I particularly like the way they've asked what is going on for me at the moment - it makes me feel like a person not a problem.

As soon as I moved to this practice, I had my first face-to-face medication review in several years. It really helped to go through each medication and have beneficial changes made as a result.

I also got booked in for a review with a GP specialising in HRT - I had previously been getting HRT on repeat with no review for some time. I didn't realise this was not the norm and I feel reassured that I will now be getting regular reviews, and that there are specialists within the surgery to discuss any menopause/HRT issues with.

My only regret is that I didn't change to this practice sooner!

Keep up the great work, it's very much appreciated.

Alright with me, but my partner has a complicated issue and the receptionist from this morning needs to sort her attitude out or find another job that’s not working with the public. We’ve had a chat twice with management and nothing changes.

I am pleased to be able to revise my review, as
I would like to extend my appreciation to the administration manager Sarah Feeney, for their prompt response and willingness to assist was greatly appreciated.

However, I must emphasize that the appointment booking system still needs improvement. The current system, which requires patients to call at 8 AM and often results in long wait times and missed appointments, is not efficient. It can be particularly stressful and detrimental to patients' health to wait on the phone for extended periods only to be told by 8.30 -9.00 that no appointments are available.

I would suggest implementing an online GP and Practitioner Nurse consultations to be available during the day and to be able to book them online and in the surgery, also reserving some slots from your daily appointments for urgent cases to make the process smoother and more accessible for everyone.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and for considering my feedback.

One of the worst doctors I’ve enrolled at! Just the phone intro before being put online takes 1 minute then they’ll tell you they only have 40 people in the phone que!! And hang up? Reception staff are rude and ask why you need to see a doctor every time! I know I need a doctor that’s why I’m ringing you trained in answering phones and inputting information into a computer why am I having to tell you my issues? I have used doctors around the world and this one is shocking.

Since writing the below review, the surgery has installed a better phone system which works more efficiently and even gives the option for you to have a call back rather than waiting in the queue. I recently had to take my son and try the new system and it’s a huge improvement. We were able to get an appointment straight away and were seen on time. I believe the surgery has took note of patients feedback and have made necessary improvements.

AWFUL! Reception staff are disgusting. Since covid is clear that they prefer it that no one goes in the doctors so that they have an easy life. The phone service doesn’t allow you to book an appointment most of the time and message advises you that you can consult a doctor online, so you spend 20 mins completing all the info only to receive a message that says you must call to book an appointment!!! What’s the point in that? The phone service tells you it can’t be answered then hangs up on you!

… and why move to a bigger surgery shared with 3 surgery’s and you see the same 4 doctors names going around on the board. All those rooms but no doctors ever available. The service was much better at the old tiny surgery behind the chip shop and the receptionist who worked there had good customer service skills. The current ones have zero customer service skills, no empathy when they tell you they can’t book you in, they almost seem like they enjoy giving bad news and telling you that you need to call the surgery EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE IN THE SURGERY!!
