Phoned this morning regarding following on Med from my GP S after an operation in another trust . The med hadn't been arranged properly for my GP to give me a repeat prescription. Spoke to Nicky, she was so helpful and sorted the situation within 15 minutes. Thanks so much . Last thing you need is to be worrying that you'll run out of pain relief.
I always find West common Lane Teaching Practice helpful and they do the best they can to get things resolved quickly. After being with another practice which was totally inadequate I am relieved I have a excellent GP service now

Phoned at opening time to make an urgent appointment, was 6th in the queue so used the call back service. Received a call back very promptly and an appointment was made for just over an hour later. Was late to the appointment due to a mobility issue, but clinical staff were understanding about this. Consultation was very thorough, not rushed, with empathy shown, along with a clear explanation of the possible issues, proposed treatment, safety netting advice, and an appointment made for further testing. Many thanks.

Leaving this here on behalf of my mum who was going to write a letter - I told her not to bother. A few of her friends have had the same experience. Just a shame the reception staff seem to have no people skills at all. When older people go to visit the doctors, the least you should expect is a bit of courtesy, understanding and respect - call me old fashioned. Not here, but then clearly nobody cares. I'm sure they have a poster or two behind the desk somewhere stating that rudeness will not be tolerated. To the practice - just hire receptionists with a bit of courtesy and some people skills, that's all.

I’ve just got to say what wonderful, kind, patient, receptionists and Doctors…
This practice should be very proud and I would awarded five stars to them if I could…
I would highly recommend them to anyone…
I was quite poorly and the receptionist recognised this and got I an appointment within two hours of ringing!
All my experiences have nothing but been professional.
Well done to you all.

Absolutely shocking place the reception staff are rude individuals that present with weak communication skills.
They don't listen and dismiss you and your illness. They play God with your life and you can't ever get past the snotty reception staff!
I dont recommend these to anyone and I certainly don't even rate them a one!

They won't give you an appointment but instead out you on a triage lift

I've been trying to access mental health services before I get to crisis point but they just put you on a list so you can sit and wait for them to tell you when you can be seen

So much for taking mental illness seriously

very poor experience overall, dismissive treatment and poor communication - did not prescribe me recommended allergy medications following hospital appointment (I found out at a new practice from the letter that was sent to WCL months before and was suffering on and off for 3 years untreated and uncontrolled face allergy reactions!); they changed my sons appointment time to 2PM slot with extremely short notice whilst I was in the car on the way, left work early, picked my son from school for the original 2:30pm time - just a text which I had no chance to read and did not accommodate when we turned up as we were late (practice inflicted missed appointment) and told us there is no appointments available until further notice. if you're lucky enough to get through the answering machine appointments hardly ever available - you're asked to call again. Once I was given appointment 3 weeks after the allergy reaction due to lack of slots, to be told I need to come in when I have a reaction and dismissed despite quite comprehensive list of symptoms and photos🤦 and once you're in, the waiting 30-50 minutes. I once unfortunately arrived exactly 2 minutes late due to traffic and was told missed appointment, but was never seen on time before or after... Unless it's a telephone appointment - where in my case they used wrong phone number TWICE in 2 weeks time... This list is not exhaustive. Some ladies at the reception also not pleasant to speak with, not a good customer service. Doctors rotation seem to be high - always seen by different people, always new names. However they respond to your complaint letters and although practice manager seems to be a nice and reasonable person over the phone there are major improvements needed... Now I moved to different practice I can honestly see the difference and approach that I am offered now and it is beyond comparison - it was a good decision to move on.

Have serious allergies that require an epi pen, after seeing a doctor about my current allergie medication not being as effective I was give medication that can be bought of the shelf in any shop. Had my previous medication removed from my prescription so was stuck with an even more ineffective medicine then before that could leave me with a trip to AnE.
