Arrived for a 3 night stay during Whitsun. Not the easiest place to find with poor signage and several road closures near to the venue. The Sat Nav couldn't help us sadly and kept sending us around in circles as diversion signs were limited. When we did arrive we were greeted fine and the room was spacious and lovely. TV was a little small for the room. The bar area was good and meal choices fine. Staff were friendly and food was nice. My major gripe was the time it took to service the room. When staying there and you go out at 10.30am then return near 3pm you expect the room to have been serviced. The fact I had to ask twice before it was finally done was unnecessary and disappointing but there seemed to be only one female member of staff servicing a lot of rooms and she seemed run ragged! There were noisy guests who loved the sound of their own voice but we tried not to let that affect our stay. Overall it was fine and we would return but feel the hotel need to note our comments and look after couples better who are staying a few nights as equally as larger parties.

We have just come back from a lovely 3 night stay for my mother in laws 60th birthday. We were a very large party and we felt we were looked after very well. The level of service from all the staff was exceptional. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Hotel is set in a beautiful location and facilities were excellent. The food was delicious and service at dinner was very good. For such a large party our food orders were managed very well and my only criticisms are that the hotel could use some updating in places and the level of choice on the menu could be better, aside from that we had a wonderful time and would definitely return.

Iconic hotel sadly very disappointing , booked this for a birthday celebration sadly it’s tired and needs serious updating or even some minor TLC like weeding and lick of paint ! The only plus point were the extremely friendly staff they are a credit to the place The food was inedible im afraid to say don’t book the breakfast it’s mass cooked unappealing and poor quality. We had an executive suite which meant it was roomy ! Very tired furniture and bathroom needs updating even some luxury toiletries and extra towels would be an improvement!

One night stay and happy that's all it was. Room was spacious and clean and tidy, but the bed was a standard size for such a large room, and we found it hard and uncomfortable. Food in the restaurant was ok, but nothing to rave about.
Staff were friendly and helpful, and the main building was nice and clean and spacious with lovely views..

We stayed overnight in a 'cosy' room in the annexe. The room was adequate - small, but it was the cheapest category. However, it could have been rather better - there was a desk and chair but the gap between the chair back and the bed was so narrow that it wasn't possible to pull the chair out to sit on at the desk! There was only a bedside table on one side of the bed not both sides. The lights in the room were too dim to read a book. The soundproofing between the corridor and room and between floors was not very adequate, but the other guests were considerate and didn't make too much noise.||Staff were helpful. The heated swimming pool was lovely and I really enjoyed my swim. We had not booked an evening meal and were pleased we hadn't as a wedding party had booked out the restaurant for a large part of the evening. We would have had to eat very early or right at the end of the serving time. Instead we had a nice smoked salmon and lettuce ciabatta in the bar area. If it had been less windy there was a very nice terrace which you could sit out on. As others have commented, if you book an evening meal, what you actually get is £25 worth of food from the a la carte menu. The choice on this is fairly limited.||We had booked a cooked breakfast, which was quite good but not amazing. My omelette was cooked to order and very nice. However, the pastries were soggy and the only fresh fruits on offer were orange segments. Cereal choice was average. As the list price for breakfast was £15, I was expecting something better. We had a better, cheaper breakfast at a Premier Inn the morning before!

Stayed here for a couple days with my mum. Staff were amazing, so friendly and happy to help. Food was great. Had a lovely treatment in the spa, the beautician went above and beyond for me.
Only thing to mention is that it appears to be more of a leisure club with a pool and treatment rooms rather then a spa, you have to walk through the gym to use the sauna and steam room which is a bit off putting if in a swimming costume and towel. Pool was nice, limited seating. Would stay again despite this.

Stayed for a wedding, it was nice. The wedding and reception was beautiful and the food was lovely both on the day and the evening before. The staff and organisation was lovely.

I was a tad disappointed with not allowing any of the wedding guests to check in before 1500 when the wedding was at 1300, I’m sure something could have been done for that.

The rooms are nice and a big size, they are clean and well stocked. The shower heads need a bit of attention but in all it was a lovely stay.

The pool is nice, could warn customers to bring flip flops though as there’s a little walk from the changing room via the reception to the pool.

The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The staff were polite and efficient. I’d recommend this place to others.

There are lots of stairs to get to your room so if you’re not so mobile please make this very clear on booking.

Hotel itself is a bit tired, but everything works and is clean. Worth going for the executive room. Food was great. Definitely worth paying for inclusive breakfast. The only done side to the whole experience was the journey there and back. Very much country lanes to get to the destination.
