An absolutely incredible retreat venue! I hired the entire of Walnut escapes for a yoga and meditation retreat with my studio Eye of Hatha. The space was a perfect country hideaway, easy to get to by car or train from London, a beautiful blend of rustic and modern, and a wonderful balance of both indoor and outdoor space.

The renovated studio was a great space for our yoga and meditation sessions. The different lighting settings, optional layout configurations with linen curtain partitions, and the possibility of having the doors open or closed made the set up for each class a whole new vibe. The acoustics were also great for our Tibetan sound healing as well.

The bedrooms were stunning, super comfortable and a lovely reminder of the country location with beautiful wooden beams and rustic touches. Both kitchens were fully equipped with absolutely everything we could need to cook and serve for all 11 of us on the retreat and having two separate spaces was really useful and an added dimension to the experience. The added extras of the outdoor ice bath, fire pit, toiletries, bath robes, stunning fresh flowers and fruit bowls made for a really luxurious retreat. Our guests were absolutely overjoyed.

Julian made the whole event run so smoothly and was always on hand to help with anything needed.

Cannot recommend the location and host enough!

We recently booked all of the Walnut estates properties for the celebration of our daughters wedding and I have to say the space was perfect for all of the preparation we needed to do. The properties themselves are beautifully fitted out with each one having very unique characters. we used the main barn and cottage as accommodation and the Studio was used primarily as the bride and bridesmaid preparation area. It was fantastic space for this. Overall our experience was excellent and I would highly recommend Walnut Escapes ! Julian was a pleasure to deal with, and it was such a lovely surprise to have freshly baked scones and a beautiful cake awaiting us after a long drive...
Thank you Julian for allowing us to use your beautiful property, it really helped to make my daughters wedding weekend very special indeed. I would not hesitate to recommend Walnut Escapes to anyone.

*SIMPLY EXCELLENT*

I booked Walnut Barn (including the Studio and Cottage) to accommodate my groomsmen and their respective partners for my recent wedding.

In short, Walnut Barn was simply excellent. The complex is spacious and immaculate. Everything that could possibly be needed has been thought of and is provided. We were welcomed by a lovely afternoon tea (plus an enormous fruit-bowl) that we devoured on arrival. The space and rooms are modern but classic and tastefully decorated. The morning of my wedding, I had a photoshoot in the gorgeous gardens with my groomsmen.

Julian has been a star throughout. He has been very responsive and helpful. He met my wife and me at check-in and gave us a full tour of the property. We found him to be charming and clearly proud of the lovely place he has built.

I cannot recommend Walnut Barn more highly - it was perfect for our wedding, but would be great for a hundred other occasions.

Our family of 16 stayed in these beautiful premises for a long weekend to celebrate a wedding in a local venue. Everyone loved their time here and the top quality equipment and the grounds were much appreciated particularly the fire pit and barbecue area. Julian was a great host too. All top notch!

We were delighted to return to Walnut Barn and Cottage for a family holiday at the end of May, three years since our first visit. Julian was waiting to meet us and show us the improvements he has recently made. We were welcomed with delicious cake, scones and sparkling wine, which was much appreciated. Our stay was enhanced by the use of the new Walnut Studio, with its superbly equipped large kitchen and adjoining spacious dining / living area with sliding glass doors, fitted with the latest technology. This large cooking and living area, together with an additional en-suite bedroom, as well as the picnic tables in the lovely garden, enabled us to enjoy being with all our family whilst still having plenty of space to comply with Covid regulations. We all thought it was a wonderful place to be together.

My partner and I visited Sussex with our son (under 2) and it was such a lovely weekend all because of Walnut Cottage. Julian was incredibly friendly and gave us a useful tour of the cottage on arrival. He has a high chair and travel cot which was so convenient for us. Beautifully kept garden, and the cottage was spotless. Thank you for accommodating us this weekend.

Wonderful rental. Gorgeous big house with all modern cons and space. The kitchen is bit squished with the big table to seat everyone. The adjacent cottage is really lovely with lots of room, 2 bedrooms and a lounge! Owners provide everything you need and you can even pay for a hot tub if you fancy! Really great rental, would highly recommend and will return!
