When I listen to friends who are patients at other practices I realise how good Walkergate surgery is. It has been my surgery for around 15 years.
It is very easy to order a prescription, I now email, and it is made up at the surgery and usually ready to collect in two working days. I have had bloods taken twice in the last year 2024, and that was very easy and effecient with good availabity of appointments with the nurse.
I have twice had to see the doctor in 2024-25 and it was easy to get an appointment, both times were on the same day of contact.
The practice is very efficiently run, with friendly staff, whilst patients are usually notified by text about appointments or when prescriptions are ready to collect, although I have been called at home too.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to all staff but in particular the receptionist Karen and Dr Bawn. I called the surgery on behalf of my colleague who’s been unwell Karen was absolutely fantastic, friendly and reassuring. She arranged for my colleague to speak to a Dr and arrange a face to face appointment. Thanks Karen, you were so helpful. I’ve been with this surgery for a couple of years now and I’ve always had really good service even throughout this pandemic. My friend who dispensed medication at a pharmacy has left her job due to the verbal abuse she and her colleagues have received. It’s not acceptable. On a separate note I dont see a doctor often but it is usually Dr Bawn. She listens and is also reassuring. Sad she’s retiring. Thanks to everyone for the challenging job you all do. So after having my blood taken, which for anyone who has a pathological fear of needles, will understand is INCREDIBLY hard to do (I didn't even sleep the night before) i now have to go back in because my samples were "lost or unusable" like, what does that even mean? How do they get lost? And if they're unusable, I'm assuming that's because they've been contaminated which makes me worry about the overall sterility of this place

No appointments ever available and whoever the receptionist is could do with an intense customer care course as arrogance is not part of the criteria to work in a doctor's surgery.
Be careful as they all talk behind your back about your problems i heard them myself!!!!

This surgery is the best in Beverley,it might be small but the service it gives is first class.The Doctors actually listen to you when you have a problem and try to solve it,the nurses always smile when they administer their loving care.Lastly the receptionists who are the face of any practice always make you welcome with a lovely smile.
