I would give this 0 stars if I could.
My mum is patient of this surgery, she can never get a face-to-face appointment with a doctor. She called as she has been suffering with severe headaches which has affected her sight. The DR told her she may be having a stroke and suggested she calls 999. To tell an elderly patient she may be suffering a stroke without actually seeing her is unbelievable. It wasn't a stroke and there has been zero follow up from the surgery.
Judging by the reviews on here its quite clear there is a serious lack of professionalism in general.

Nothing against the Doctors I have seen or the staff I have spoken to over the phone. The big issue here is the practice manager is doing a terrible job. She keeps the appointment diaries closed to the reception staff, so they are unable to book future appointments, this is to make the practice look like they are sticking to the government targets on waiting times when they aren't. I feel sorry for the staff, their jobs made harder by bad management.

Update: Booking system is all via the NHS app now, I was scolded over the phone via reception staff for calling to book an appointment, despite never being updated on this new process. But the App doesn't give me the options to book an standard appointment, just blood tests, smear tests and injections. I'm actually just now incredibly anxious to phone and book because I'm so tired of being told off and spoken rudely by staff for doing things wrong.

Well I did not think I would ever write this but the surgery seems to have turned over a new leaf. I managed to get through to reception quickly, doctor rang me back same day, appointment at the DGH within 3 days, follow up call from the doctor when results came through. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely disappointing on every level. It's a well-known struggle to get an appointment with a GP, but what are you supposed to do when you end up in tears after dealing with the receptionist and being told there are no available slots? I know what many do—they resort to going to A&E, adding to the burden of already overwhelmed hospital staff. The communication and administrative processes are terrible. My experience was riddled with errors, including a misunderstanding with my hospital consultant, who was incorrectly informed that I wasn't a registered patient there. Furthermore, they've managed to lose my entire vaccination record. I voiced my complaints via email but was met with silence, which ultimately led to my decision to leave.

*update, 10/9/24 whoever is working reception today needs a lesson in customer service, couldn’t get a word in edgewise as she kept talking over me and had a attitude! I see reviews for the practise are going down hill fast.

Although all the staff are very pleasant and hardworking trying to get an appointment to see my GP has been near impossible, once you get to speak to a receptionist to make the appointment not only was I made to feel like I was a nuisance or making things up but the Earliest appointment i could make was 3 weeks away. Very disheartening, I recommend you find an alternative Doctors practice.

My wife had an appointment (been waiting 5 months) tomorrow. She has just been contacted to say the appointment is cancelled due to staff sickness. Her new appointment is now 11th October. This used to be a good doctors surgery . Since Vita healthcare have taken over it has gone downhill rapidly.

Very efficient, they have their problems but they get them sorted. I saw Will the paramedic
today very nice chap knows what he is doing. Unfortunately l have to revise my review, the place is a shambles. You cannot get an appointment the only person you can talk to is the receptionist ON THE PHONE. My wife has type 2 diabetes she has not seen anybody for a check up for over a year and of course she cannot get her drugs.

The worst service and treatment of patients waiting for prescriptions.
5 days later the request is still with the doctor, now it's the week end and a bank holiday so 3 more days without medication, all you get told is well I can't interrupt the doctors clinic.
I was told the medication would be sent to the chemist the day before, this was a lie as the chemist did not receive it.
Patients get ill from stress and upset and unable to get medication. this surgery is appalling, and should be held accountable.
