The integration of technology, such as the engage consult service, has notably improved patient experience, allowing for quicker and more efficient communication in an era where such convenience is highly valued.

Patient Opinions and Satisfaction

Despite some challenges, notably the difficulty in securing appointments over the phone, the centre receives positive feedback from many patients. The staff is described as helpful, and the situation regarding GP appointments is recognized as a broader national issue exacerbated by the post-Covid environment. Many appreciate the affordability of services, especially in light of the free NHS provision, viewing the medical center as a valuable resource.

However, the average opinion on Google My Business reflects a moderate satisfaction level with a score of 2.3/5. This suggests there's room for improvement in certain areas. Patients might appreciate more clarity on appointment availability and possibly more streamlined communication channels.

I agree it is difficult to get an appointment via telephone but using engage consult is a game changer. I always get a response and or telephone call on the same day.
Equally, contacting the surgery via email
For repeat prescriptions, medical certificates and any other queries is quick and easy.
I find the staff helpful, the situation with GP appointments is not their fault and is the reality nationally post Covid. Let's not forget too that the NHS is free at point of delivery, and I for one am grateful that I'm not paying for any of these services directly.

Rang the surgery at 8.30am and was put in a queue with the option to be rung back which I did choose. A few minutes later a delightful lady called me and asked a few obvious questions. At 11.45 I was in with the doctor and just after noon I left Kamsons with some medication. Throughout the experience was calming, supportive and highly professional. Top marks to the VMC.

Every interaction with the centre has been so positive helpful and always feel listened to. These interactions also relate to appointments with my parents at the surgery, which have been literally life changing. Brilliant staff, Brilliant doctors.

A couple of bad experiences with Victoria Medical Centre
1) Auto repeat prescription service is pretty shoddy when you have to go into the surgery & fill out a request to release the next batch & you go to the chosen pharmacy & itā€™s not been activated by the surgery & you back a week later & itā€™s not been done & then go back 4days later & guess what? itā€™s still not been sent through to the pharmacy, so you go back to the surgery & ask whatā€™s happened & all you get is ā€œthere must have been a glitchā€!!!
Itā€™s a good thing the prescription isnā€™t for life saving medication!
2) took a urine sample in on behalf of my partner the receptionist wrongly assumed it was for a female & also wrongly assumed it was for an infection without giving me the opportunity to speak, when I corrected her she was rather indignant. The sample was infact for a diabetic check & they didnā€™t bother to inform my partner of the results.
So Iā€™m afraid that the service from this place is at best shoddy & worst diabolical!

Waited a whole month for my GP appointment just for them to dismiss me after not even 2 minutes, prescribing me antibiotics without even listening to what I had to say. I understand that there's a lot of pressure on the NHS right now and I personally don't mind waiting a bit to address my problems, but I'd at least expect for the professionals in question to do their jobs properly. Not to mention how theyā€™re not even taking my motherā€™s health issues seriously eitherā€”sheā€™s been waiting years for a surgery that hasnā€™t even been scheduled yet.

I recently had a very good experience at VMC. I used the Engage consult system to notify the team of my issue and was called back and given an appointment the same day. The reception team were polite and friendly and the premises very clean. The doctor I spoke to was brilliant, he was kind, interested and most importantly very knowledgable and helpful. I left feeling like everything was done for me that could have been. Thank you VMC, with all the strains on GP surgeries these days I think the service was brilliant and should be recognised.

Hands down the worst surgery in Eastbourne. You just can't ever see anyone. Getting an appointment is near impossible they tell you to call in at 8am which I did. They called back at 8.10 went through the process to tell me they had no appointments available to try again tomorrow so I did and surprise, surprise all gone by 8.09 then she hints that walk ins are getting them all but to try again in the morning or on Mondays when they might be able to book for Tue, Wed, Thurs but again she can't say for certain she will have any. Not a problem I'll take a day off to queue up to get an appointment as calling seems to be a way of keeping people out of the surgery. Of course queueing up a lot of sick people togther outside the surgery is good idea and I'm sure won't make things worsešŸ˜© bottom line provided you never need any form of service from them they are great. This was supposed to be a all singing all dancing surgery when it was proposed and built buts it turned into an absolute S! *tshow they should all be ashamed of the lack of service they provide and the let down they are to the community!

Shocking service. You call to find you're 18th in the queue, by the time you get to talk to somebody, all appointments are then gone. Rinse and repeat the next day. The Station clinic was far better, at least you could get an appointment. Why isn't this practice being investigated?
