On the evening of January 31, 2025, at 5:50 PM, I visited Upton Court Emergency Hospital in Slough due to severe stomach pain and breathing difficulties. The receptionist informed me that for an appointment at Upton, I needed to call 111, but since it was already 6:05 PM, she advised me to go directly to Wexham Hospital. With only 10 minutes left, I went to the visitor lobby to make the call and check. As I dialled, a woman with a phone approached me and, in a dismissive and racially insensitive tone, told me it was too early to call. She also insisted that I could not stand there, rudely instructing me to go home and call instead, stating that they needed the space for other patients.

Her lack of empathy and unwillingness to understand my distress left me deeply disheartened. I had no choice but to leave, feeling helpless. This experience reflects the reality of how the NHS operates in the UK. As an international student who pays for NHS services, I found the treatment disappointing and inhumane. I would advise others not to visit without an appointment, as this is the protocol in the UK—even in an emergency.

Although the NHS has been struggling since 2014 due to lack of funding, I adore the organisation and appreciate all NHS staff for their never ending hard work.

This hospital has some fantastic clinics including, 24 hrs walk-in GP centre (via 111 pre-booked appointment), Fir tree house for Child mental health services and so many other clinics.

I went here due to a cut finger to find that I was miss treated I had to go a&e where I find my finger got infected and now have to have surgery due to the doctor gluing my finger what cause the cut to get worse. I've now got nerve and tendon damage due to this. I think this place need to make sure their doctors are actually trained they made a mess of my treatment and now I've got to live with a life changing condition with no feeling in my hand due to this treatment

Came here with a problem and after waiting for over an hour I was basically laughed at. Dr did absolutely nothing other than be rude to me. Was told nothing was wrong to in fact be rushed to A&E less than a week later (Royal Berkshire Hospital who were brilliant) absolutely awful practice.

I go here for a procedure every three weeks, used to be two. If I try and ring the main hospital number.l, it comes up as unobtainable!!!!!!!
