I applied for life insurance in August 2024, but nearly three months later, Tuxford Medical Centre has still not provided my medical records to my insurer, despite repeated requests from both myself and my insurance company. This delay has left me unable to secure life insurance at a critical time, as I'm expecting the birth of my child in just a few weeks.

The lack of responsiveness and support from the practice has been incredibly disappointing. I expected a better service, especially when it is just providing my medical records.

attended an appointment at this GP practice due to a high temperature, persistent cough, and other concerning symptoms. During the consultation, the male doctor used a stethoscope over my clothing instead of directly on my skin. This is deeply unprofessional and goes against standard medical practices, as auscultation (listening to heart and lung sounds) requires direct contact with the skin for accurate assessment.

Listening through clothing muffles critical sounds, such as lung crackles, wheezing, or irregular heart rhythms, which are vital for diagnosing serious conditions. This lack of proper examination left me feeling dismissed and fearful about the level of care provided. It is alarming to think that such a fundamental part of the diagnostic process was handled so carelessly.

As a patient, I expect professionalism and adherence to basic medical standards, especially when dealing with potentially serious symptoms. This experience has caused me to lose trust in the care provided at this practice. I strongly urge the practice to address this issue and ensure all doctors follow proper procedures to provide thorough and accurate patient care.

I have always thought the Tuxford Medical Centre was excellent, however today I used the app in order to get advice from a medical practitioner about a medical issue and was triaged / signposted elsewhere by the receptionist without a Doctor or Nurse being involved..

Apparently they have ' training'

I fully understand the value of a doctor / nurses time and as such did not make an appointment but asked initially for advice by way of a call / email from a medically trained person before being sent elsewhere by a receptionist..I don't think that is unreasonable.

Basically Dr Harris saved my life, after testing my urine sample he knew I had sepsis, when I got to A&E. They told me " they didn't understand how he can possibly tell just by a sample?".... Well Dr. Harris was spot on wasn't he , and not only that, if we had waited another hour to call the ambulance I wouldn't be he today , it's as simple as that. So thank you so much... He even phoned me up at 6.45pm one night when I came out of hospital to check I was ok...
Now that is a caring GP...

Receptionist at this doctors is so rude, I avoid ringing up because of the attitude. She doesn’t want to help you and speaks like you are an inconvenience.

I am a new patient. Every time I speak to someone I get a different answer as to what their procedures are in regards to booking appointments etc, even registering online, one receptionist gave one advise which was refused by another. And then I just get made to feel like I am being told off for following their inconsistent information/advice. It’s concerning if that’s just the front of house, I have yet to see a dr as that’s proving difficult but I hope they follow better guidelines.

Please can I say a very big thank you to the outstanding nurse who coached my Foster teenager to giving blood on Monday 2nd December! She was very kind and caring with lots of patients. My foster child went very pale and refused until the nurse sprinkled her magic.

Tuxford Medical Centre appears to have amazing Doctors and Staff, and that wonderful new receptionist who really cares and wants to help! Well done Tuxford for keeping up with the times Ask my GP is very quick and easy! And you actually speak to a Doctor came day.

Just want thank everyone at Tuxford Medical Centre including nurses and GP who diagnosed my skin cancer.From being seen at the GP appointment and being referred to the Hospital its only took just under 4 weeks to have the operation for it to be removed
