5hrs and still waiting in A&E with an 82 year old who had a fall and no sign off seeing anyone anytime soon. Asked triage nurse for some more painkillers as it’s been over 5 hrs since last ones which had worn off and was told a colleague would do it and had door shut in my face. Colleague also shut the door before I even got chance to ask. Staff are extremely rude and unhelpful. What a disgrace this hospital is.

Lovely, lovely staff, working so hard in difficult times. The cancer services require a lot of investment: tiny chemo ward - somewhat chaotic at times, understaffed, not enough private rooms for sensitive conversations, no dedicated chemo doctors, out of hours service very long-winded. With such dedicated staff it could be 5* if it weren’t for the lack of resources. Worrying as a long-term patient.
Id like to see more patient involvement initiatives to help shape the service. Patients I’ve chatted to have some great ideas.

8 hours of waiting in a&e to be seen by minor injuries to get a shard of metal out of my partners eye from grinding. This was a Thursday night and they only had 1 practitioner clocked in after 9:30pm. We finally got seen at 3:45am to be told by the practitioner that if we came back tomorrow morning we could have been seen straight away and got sent to the eye clinic. The triage nurse didn’t mention this to us at all and simply said we’d be best to leave if we hadn’t been seen by midnight and come back to a&e in the morning where we would have to wait. Again. It got to midnight and obviously after an already 4 hour wait I was not going to leave and have to start again tomorrow. I think it’s safe to say our national insurance is going down the drain and the NHS is well and truly on its arse. Will be going private from now on.

My husband had an appointment today in the vascular department to have a PICC line inserted, prior to more chemotherapy tomorrow. Rachael and Clare, the two nurses involved in the procedure were so good. That word is not enough, they were informative in a positive and wonderfully humorous way. and professional at all times of course. My husband and I, as were of mature years, have had to be involved in the NHS many times lately, but these two ladies are gold star. Please will their seniors ensure they are noted to be not only excellent at their jobs, but doing the extra bit that ensures patients and their partners are reassured , and fully informed in such a wonderful way.

Had 2 appointments and was expecting delays. I cannot praise your staff enough this morning for promptly seeing me at phlebotomy and xray. Ramesh at Xray agreed to do my xray despite my appointment being at a different hospital to save me driving there after 1st appointment. Unfortunately royal mail hadn't delivered my appointment letter as yet so assumed both booked at torbay. All the staff I had interaction with today were happy, friendly and prompt. Makes me wonder why so many complain. If maybe paitents approach with a better attitude the staff wouldnt feel so deflated. 5 stars Torbay staff you are appreciated

Had to go to the radiology department with my son. First time going for a booked appointment.

Really quick and easy we were greeted at the door by a happy lady with good directions to where I needed to go.

In and out within 30 mins.

Clean and tidy again with a good coffee station by the entrance with good prices.

Our local hospital for the last 16 years have overseen the birth of both gran children and have treated most of my close family over the years. The staff are truly amazing especially in these covid days. Communication via letter and phone is efficient and informative, the site itself is clean and has a busy A&E department, a beautiful Chapel for prayer and reflective time, the restaurant is huge and has a trust cafe and shop in outpatients. Car parking is chargeable but extensive. The hospital is served well by stagecoach timetabled buses. Nearest railway station is Torre.

Thank you so much to Georgina the nurse who helped me with my baby girl on 12/06/24. You were so calm and professional, even though you were on a break outside. I can't thank you enough for being so supportive and helpful and getting her the assistance we needed. Also, special thanks to Tom the doctor who quickly assessed her and kept checking in with us throughout the night. You really put us at ease with your knowledge and character. You are both truly a credit to the nhs and Torbay hospital.
The whole hospital was clean and well maintained, staff were all so helpful and even got my other daughter and sandwich to eat as she'd missed dinner coming to the hospital as an emergency with my youngest. Have nothing bad to say about our experience here.
