This is still early on in my recovery Journey but I have already started seeing fast results thanks to Dr Sharief. Presenting with stomach issues and trouble loosing weight, I felt heard and taken seriously. This is what a Doctor is meant to be.

I have been suffering with strange neurological issues since February 2024. Symptom's included: spasms, jerking, headaches, pain all over and in particular my spine etc. I have found this very distressing and I have been for multiple tests. A neurologist diagnosed me with a post viral neurological illness. Traditional medicine offered no solution or medication for my issues just anti-depressants, which I am not keen to take. These anti-depressants do not offer a cure, just numb part of the brain, so you can't feel what is going on in the body.

I have heard a lot about functional medicine and through research, found Dr Sharief who is local to me. I booked to go and see him in September 2024, and was very impressed by his approach. I found him incredibly kind and professional. He gave me a lot of time, listened to my issues and recommended relevant tests. He did not rush me, although he obviously had other appointments to meet that day.

When my results came in, he did a thorough analysis and recommended life style changes, diet and supplements to improve my quality of life. I have since lost 11 kilos in weight and my inflammatory markers in blood tests for my thyroid, liver etc have reduced. I also had a pulp in my gall bladder which was 3.5mm in April last year and since reduced to 2mm.

I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Sharief and his approach to functional medicine. He is a good example to all Dr's and whom they should aspire to be; patient, kind and an investigator who tries his best to get to the root cause of a problem and offer a genuine solution. Traditionally, I never went to a Dr but since being ill I have been disappointed. I have found them to be largely dismissive and they made me feel as if my symptoms were not genuine and I was somehow making them up. My 5-10 minute appointments consisted of them looking at their computer screens and tapping away making me feel like I was wasting their time.

I wanted to say a big thank you to Dr Sharief for his genuine care and attention to my issues. I will continue to follow his advice and protocols which have been of great benefit to me. I have found him to be very warm and encouraging. His wealth of knowledge on health issues is second to none.
