I was in dire need of a new pair of glasses as my previous pair, which I'd bought online, was very ill-fitting. I was talked through everything I needed to take into consideration when choosing a more suitable pair, regardless of where I bought them from.

There was a huge selection of frames to choose from. I had something very specific in mind, though, so didn't initially find anything and continued to look elsewhere. However, the team member assisting me, Rose, listened closely to what I wanted and was able to order in some more frames from another branch for me to try on. When I came back to check them out, she had found exactly what I was after!

The after care has been amazing and they'll happily make any adjustments needed. They work tirelessly to make sure you get exactly what you want. (If you ask for it, of course!) I'm so happy with my new custom-fitted glasses and really pleased that I bought them from The Village Opticians, rather than ordering online and risking another poorly fitting set of frames!

This is the best Opticians I have ever used. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The Opthamologist was very thorough and took the time to answer all my questions. When I went in to collect my contact lenses and glasses, I was pleased to discover that they were laid out all ready for me on a tray, with a small chocolate too. You don't get service like that in many places these days. I would definitely recommend this Opticians to friends and family. Thank you.

I've been attending The Village Optician since I was little and couldn't recommend more highly. They have very prompt communication regarding appointment availability, contact lens delivery and due check ups. I've visited a number of their sites and always welcomed with a friendly face. My family and I have been using The Village Optician for years for all of our eye related needs and recently the team went above and beyond to help me.

I had an eye test just before the country’s lockdown was initiated, I was trying to get by but I’d broken my glasses and was trying to get by with an even older pair. I rang the guys and explained my problem and they couldn’t have been more helpful! I was able to visit the Aycliffe branch and select a new pair of glasses ? and a week later they arrived.

Liz is a fab lady and helped me pick my frames, she had a selection ready for me to view for when I arrived as had popped out on my lunch break. The team ensured that the health and safety for all of us was maintained by complying with social distancing measures etc

Must say I'm very disappointed with this place, not a great selection of glasses, had to pay for anti- reflective lenses. Got my first pair from Asda never paid extra, got my second pair from here never paid, this pair was told I would miss it if I didn't get the anti- reflection lenses, I agree, they proceed to charge me extra. Just to clarify when I got my first pair of glasses here, I said I didn't want to pay for anti-reflective lenses, when I went to pick them up, the optician advised they put it on free as I would really miss it.
Shame that customer service is no longer given.
WILL NEVER USE AGAIN, OTHER PLACES DO THE SAME IF NOT MORE GLASSES & YOU GET ANTI-REFLECTION LENSES *FREE*

First class customer service from the Village opticians in Coxhoe.

My daughter came home from school with the news that she had dropped and damaged her glasses. Unfortuantely we are going on holiday and there was not much time to get them repaired. So I popped into the Village opticians on the off chance and they fixed them efficeintly and quickly, without any fuss.

Was made to feel so welcome from walking in the door to leaving as a very happy lady. The staff were so helpful and the optician explained everything you needed to know and I recieved a text within 2 days saying my glasses were ready. We should all try and support our local buisnesses.
