Awful gym, poor facilities, members themselves are lovely however the staff and management are incredibly rude, belittling, dismissive and invalidating. It appears they struggle to comprehend basic information and have difficulties in responding in a way which is kind, empathetic and well mannered. If you have a query, expect to be spoken down to and blamed for asking/repeating questions they have failed to understand in the first place. Their pricing amd gym regulations are inconsistent and dependent on who you speak to - i have been told very different information by different members of staff. What makes it worse is the utter lack of acknowldgement or willingness to hear about the issues this causes. Instead they have deflected, denied and blame shifted.

Overall poor experience, cancelled membership purely because of the poor customer management/lack of basic conversational skills. Would have scored a 0 if possible.

My partner and I recently moved to the area and were really keen to have a look at this facility due to there being a pool and both of us having old job injuries. Upon visiting we were informed of the prices, we were allowed to take a look around ourselves which was nice with no pressure.

Gave two stars mainly because the staff and team were really lovely and helpful, the members who popped in and who we passed seemed friendly too which was lovely.

This is where it was not so great, very small narrow corridor leading past changing rooms and toilets/showers that were not working. The pool seemed nice but again not working when we visited, the gym was incredibly small and everything looked knackered and not just in the gym but all over the building which was sad.

We were then informed about memberships, so joining fee and 53pcm (not as a pair) but singular. So £106 pcm for facilities that are outdated barely working and according to a lot of people we have chatted to in the area and also reviews online is not open half the time. The opening times at the weekend were the major no for us - we are shift workers but oftentimes are off weekends, the fact that the opening window is so short at weekends meant we didn’t bother.

We decided to join Caterham Sports Centre instead which is amazing by comparison with very reasonable prices for what you get and great if you work shifts working around students timetables. Perfect for us!

Sorry Village Health Club - we wanted to really love it but couldn’t justify the cost for what we would get.

Needs a clean, shower controls hanging out the wall, small pool roped off and out of action; and that was just me using the pool for a lesson for the first time. Not a very inspiring place to do any exercise.

The sauna has been broken for over 6 months, when I speak to the team to query the response is they are awaiting a quote. The £52 pcm membership is also questionable with the outdated facilities and limited classes. Unfortunately there are no other gyms locally. I welcome a pure gym or gym group to the area.

Everything closes too early. The tandridge sauna and steam closes 5 hours before finish time on weekends and village health club don’t let anyone in after 1pm on weekends although they finish at 2. Too many kids in the week and literally a rush to close at the weekend. Freedom leisure’s are no where near worth the money you pay

They have replaced the taps in changing room to hot water only. So using sauna you cannot top up drinking bottle to keep hydrated. Meanwhile all but one or two of their lockers are functioning as has been the case for years. Priorities. Utter contempt for their clientele.

For the money I don't think it's great. I have been going to this gym for 13 years. I pay extra money for a more relaxing feel. It used to be private gym. I don't think they should allow children in this pool or have aqua classes. I think it should be a relaxing adult gym. The pool is now over crowded the pool was not made to fit that amount of people. And they also have a pathetic small lane only one person can fit into. There is a sign stating it fits two people which makes allot of the customer grumble. The Sauna always seems broken and dirty. The pool is dirty. The changing rooms never seem clean, but that's probably because for some strange reason the cleaner comes in the morning so throughout the day it's left dirty. And you have to get up at 6am to book onto classes a week in advance I work during that time so cant get my phone out why should I pay money and not cater to my needs what is to be done about this?. The gym seems run down and the staff could honestly be more friendly. I clearly only wanted to pass though with my card into the gym whilst someone was writing in a form. if they girl behind the desk used her common sense she would have thought to take my card and just sign me in. Little things like that. No cups for water machine. Not a relaxing gym at all. Why do we pay for this gym? what do we really get ? why is oxted not more because it has a sauna? and where are the swim memberships only? what's good about it? can't think of anything really the class teachers are sometimes nice. One once said to me this wont help you lose weight! I didn't even say I was a diet or wanted to lose weight. Rude!

This gym was sold to me as a relaxing gym/spa feel. It certainly is not that I think you need to bring the price down in comparison to oxted and de stafford. I wouldn't waste your money guys! it's a rip off.

Overpriced and poor facilities. I cancelled my membership and almost two months afterwards I had another payment taken after specifically being told there would be no more payments taken. I am being ignored after trying to get a refund for over a month now!
