This accommodation is a converted 2 up, 2 down terraced house, 10 mins ish walk from York centre. Room cleanliness was fine, although a bit cramped. Comms fine.

Paid for parking but have since had TWO overdue payment emails asking for payment, despite sending them a screenshot of my mobile banking app (as they requested) as evidence of payment. It's off-street parking so they don't have to charge for it, but is obviously a way to make a bit of extra money as the house is in a resident permit area.

Great stay, with excellent amenities. Easy self service check in and near local town points. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. One of the best stays I have visited and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend for those visiting York!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Vanguard York. Very comfortable bedrooms with clean bedsheets and modern bathrooms. The service provided was exceptional , very attentive and polite staff. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here when they come to visit York!

Perfect little gem of a guest house. Clean and cosy. Comfy bed , fab shower, everything you need for a visit to York!! Will definitely be returning !! It’s not a hotel as such but you don’t need that with all the restaurants and bars York has on offer. This is a perfect little guest house to base yourself. About 20 min walk to city centre, close to Uni, convent stores, cafes etc. I loved it and as a lone female I felt safe and secure. It’s somewhere I would recommend and will 100% be returning. I’ve stayed in a couple of larger hotels at a whopping price and although nice this is perfect if you’re on a budget and just want a base for your holiday. The owners check in with you to make sure everything is ok and are there 24/7. Superb service !!

Book Book Book. What a gem of a place |Run by a couple with tremendous amount of love for quality hospitality and a love for beautiful York. Here you shall have superbly clean beds, a wonderful shower with added benefits such as a tv with multiple channels , tea/coffee machine. All this at a reasonable price, short walk from town . It's rare to find a gem of a place like this . Thank you to the owners for making our stay wonderful , we shall not hesitate to book again. Dr. F. ali

Lovely spacious room, just as described, with everything we needed plus some thoughtful extra touches like the small fridge and Netflix. Great location, a short walk from the centre of York. |Info for check in was clear and easy to access our room with no fuss - the electronic lock meant we could come and go easily. The owner checked in with us that everything was ok.
