This place is the ultimate spa retreat! Have been many times and it never disappoints. Never feels overcrowded, clean with ample of towels! The outdoor heated pool is fantastic looking over the beautiful grounds. They also provide a Tuktuk service to get you from the main hotel to the spa for anyone who has mobility issues. Staff are friendly and the cafe has lovely treats to offer.

My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday for my 24th birthday and it was truly one of the best birthdays of my life!
The facilities they offer are immaculate and so amazing!
The treatment we got was a remedy facial and it was so relaxing I couldn’t put it into words! It’s now hours later and I still feel relaxed!
Every single staff member was so polite and lovely, I couldn’t fault any of them, they really make the experience so much better,

I recommend this to EVERYONE!!!

The stay was mostly fine. The room was large and clean, we had some problems though with the steam room/shower and tiles coming up. Which was a bit of a problem and very sore under foot when a rogue tile was found!! Our first meal was absolutely delicious!! We did the upgrade thing for the steak...and it was everything you could want and more. The children are their kids meals with little complaint although the next night we did ask for the chips to come without the seasoning. At both dinner times for the kids something was missing from the menu. Service flip flopped between at times a little inattentive and occasionally a little rattled or sarcastic, and others too enthusiastic and in our faces. I think the hotel would benefit by having child size juices at a more appropriate price. No kid needs half a pint of juice at £4.50!! The spa...ok...so now we are talking. The splash times were a little inconvenient I felt, especially the morning one, but we made it work and the family room worked like a treat. The facilities and pool were phenomenal. I was told I couldn't use the hair straighteners with my 6 year old with me as we were out of the allotted splash time, which after my husband told me was not the case. It did seem a bit mean, she'd of just sat there colouring while I did my hair!! Afternoon tea was lovely, very filling and felt very luxurious. We had an adventure walk around the grounds and it was so beautiful, we were very lucky with our stay and the weather. The nearest lift to our room wasn't working and there was no mention or apologies about this. I think they'd do better to own their mistakes (like the case of the flying and then missing hummus!!) and be more vocal when things go wrong. Customers see and hear more than they realise. I mentioned most/if not all of this when checking out and the chap was kind and went through our bill and matched the service we had with some money off our service bill. Overall it was a nice stay and we would likely stay again.

Absolutely stunning - it feels like a tropical resort in the middle of the English countryside. Beautifully clean and well maintained, tranquil and incredibly relaxing. The only negative to mention is the spa bar is extortionate - £15 for a small glass of sparkling wine! - and service is excruciatingly slow, but still I cannot recommend this place enough. Even the wild swimming pool alone makes the trip worth it!

Amazing experience! We booked the couples package and spent the whole day at the spa. Massage and mud room experience were fantastic. Had lunch at Botanica - plenty of lighter options, really very good food. Great pool and gym facilities. We loved the large hot tub/pool and of course the natural outdoor pool. We came away feeling energized and rejuvenated. Thank you!

Amazing place for a relaxing break.

Friendly staff

Beautiful setting with view of the South Downs

Large selection of delicious food and drinks - both for the health conscious or if you want something more decadent.

The room we stayed in was generous in size and clean with contemporary designs.

Spa facilities was one of the best we’ve been to.

Fun fact : South Lodge is home to the largest single stemmed rhododendron in Britain

I visited South Lodge Spa and enjoyed a coffee in the hotel—it was a truly beautiful and positive experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming, making me feel completely at ease. The atmosphere was stunning, and the macaroons were absolutely out of this world! I hope to return someday. Highly recommended for a relaxing and indulgent visit.

THE BEST SPA HOTEL EVER! I recommend it all day long (and I know what I’m talking about, when it comes to SPA). Amazing facilities, outside whirlpool is the best. Great food and incredible service - they practically never say ‘no’ to you. If you can afford it - go for it!
