A lovely place thats so full of character with very helpful & friendly staff. We booked for Sunday lunch and the food was amazing. The pub and restaurant are very dog friendly. This is the first dog friendly restaurant weve been to, where you're not put in the back of beyond. We had a glorious sea view and enjoyed some lovely food. We had such a relaxed Sunday roast. Highly recommend!!!

Only piped in for a drink and this is the best pub in the area for real ales.
What’s a selection they have.
You must stay for a hour or six and try all of them.
Food looked good and the atmosphere was really nice 👍

After lots of research for somewhere in North Norfolk to stay I decided on The Red Lion. |I was not disappointed. A lovely welcome on entering the place, check in was very easy as I had completed the on line details. Luckily we had arrived early so secured a good place in the quite small but very secure car park. |Our room was lovely. A beautiful view with window seats looking out over the pier and sea. |Really clean and comfortable room with everything we could need. Tea, coffee, home made biscuits and water. Nice toiletries provided together with hairdryer, heater and fan. |Lovely touches are the fridge room so you can help yourself to fresh milk for your tea and an honesty box with a selection of goodies including a teddy, chocolate, gin and tonic, wine, peanuts. |The window is great as you can open it at night to get great fresh sea air. |Dinner was lovely with good service in the great restaurant with nice decoration and ambiance. |Breakfast was very relaxed with fantastic friendly service and really amazing food. |We both had juice, toast, fruit, tea and eggs Benedict. This was all included in the price of the room. |Very pleased with everything about this place. Will definitely return.

I fear my review may be too long and only echo the very positive ones below. This was just a fabulous three night stay, my wife and I and two very well-behaved black labradors.Unusually for us on UK mini-breaks, the weather was warm and sunny, the Red Lion would have been that if it were snowing, I suspect.

The hotel is comfortable and welcoming. I didn't once feel it was too 'posh', looking like a photo-shoot from a fashion magazine. Instead, I saw how diligent the cleaners, waiters etc. were at all times, wiping not only table tops but chairs too.

The food was fantastic and well-priced. Very generous spaces between tables. Breakfast historic, and sausages for the dogs, too.

Possibly a different vibe in Cromer in high season and school holidays. If you don't like dogs, probably best avoided. Norwich Wingman scrumpy cider should have been more responsibly rationed in my view.

Go!!

A beautiful room in a beautiful hotel. I really recommend. Great breakfast, lovely pub with a wide range of ales and beers. Room was immaculate, and the seaviews are terrific. The house keeping staff were second to none. This was my second visit. Why not 5 stars? I felt the service was lacking slightly when compared with our previous visit. It was a special occasion for us and although we put that in the booking notes, it didn’t get mentioned at all.

Sadly, this was a disappointing experience for us 8 locals! An anniversary meal where we waited an hour and half for the food, which then turned up with one meal missing "which hadn't been put through". It took so long for that meal, which was only a chicken starter and salad, to come out, that everyone else had finished eating, so the person with the missing meal gave up and went to the co op to get a cheese sandwich instead which was a lot quicker!! The waiter was completely confused as to what was on the GF menu and what wasn't! The monk fish wasn't really monkfish and very bland, the fish and chips were very basic. The menu is only for fish fans and very over priced. The waiter was very friendly and apologetic and took money off the bill but, we won't be returning in a hurry ! We would have been served quicker and got better value for money in one of the local chip shops!
